Hey photogs!
I've seen little comments/discussions here and there about people dabbling in photography.
Just wanted to get a roll call going, for fun. I'm just getting back into things, and for the first time just got a D-SLR. Just entry-level Canon Rebel XT. Only have the kit lens and nifty-50...but I'm so un-impressed with the shots the kit gets, I rarely even have it on anymore. Most immediate purchase will be a 70-200 or so, or maybe just a better quality 30-??? range replacement for the stocker. I need to build a gallery sometime with my personal favorite shots I've had in the last 1.5 months with the camera...but I don't have much. I like PP but am still learning it...use Adobe Photoshop CS2 (because it was bundled with my Production Studio Suite) and love it, I just don't know it much yet. Let's see your stuff! Ok, I can't resist...this is my ugly mug, but I'm just posting because I thought the snapshot was great (me goofing around while riding down the road with the GF...and it just fell into place when I PP'd it).

my photography isn't abstract or anything. I don't do it professionally or for a Hobby - though, I should. I'm just good at it.
Was on our High Schools yearbook for 4 years...and 2600 people isn't anything to laugh at.![]() If I ever take a picture for kicks, I'll post it, I promise. but I don't have any that I can think of...sorry. That's why I didn't answer at first.

My friend works photography for a living. She takes some amazing shots and is selling a ton of poster sized prints at the local pool hall. I do it for fun, but rarely have a camera with me.

I like to mess around with photography from time to time. I just have a basic digital camera but my dad has a digital Rebel EOS which I use from time to time.
Here's a few recent pics that I took (Sorry about the size)... ![]() ![]()

Damn, I can't see them from work. I also did some PP last night of some snapshots of the GF and kids. One of which I'm extremely proud of. I was goofing around in RAW format and accidentally just hit a perfect tint for a postcard-like image.
Need to post it when I get home.

Ok, I see them now. Good stuff!
My latest project. This wasn't the PP I liked the most, but the GF loved the roses so I re-did them to keep their original color and de-saturate/tint the rest.

The only way I could do it, is by selecting everything with the "lasso" tool. VERY Time consuming...
![]() That is a very nice picture. It looks like something I'd see inside a Photography Studio in the waiting room. VERY NICE!!!

It's customizable to automatically do what I used to do with the lasso tool. Thanks again for compliments! |

BTW, this is the original photo that I used for the above one. It has nothing done to it but a resize/compress.
Just in case you wanted to see the original. |

Very Nice! Yep, I have "magic wand" but it's a very primitive tool, compared to the more recent ones. I'd have to click 1000 times to get all those shades of pink in...even at 100% tolerance.
