At first I was a bit disappointed in no power bump from LSA, however 3.73 gears appear to be standard. Improved braking and handling. Looks like the objective was not to go with more horsepower than the car could handle, instead they focused on putting all of that power to the ground. That took courage I think because plenty of folks (probably even me) were expecting 600hp out of this thing. With those improvements this thing should still eat the GT500 even with the extra poundage. Will be interesting to see more details in the coming days.

Did anybody notice it will have a cast-iron rear diff housing like the challenger as well as a 3.73 gear..the housing will limit flex that can break gears!!

I hope the BA stereo is not carry over. That system needs a work over. Although, with dual mode exhaust and throw on some LT's, I probably won't even be turning on the radio.

Agreed. BA system sucked, and when paired with my faulty PDIM I listened to the exhaust more than the radio.

definitely liking the new wheels more and more and that interior looks a lot better also... well not sure about the steering wheel but overall looks great.

Ok those rims I want bad (in black). Btw.. There is ONE small little tiny thing GM left out that would have mad this car better visually.. Make the gold emblem into a black one! Ugh I hate that gold Chevy emblem. Carbon fiber even?!

LOVE that. The black accents look far better now I see them in context. Would still hit it in CGM or black though

550hp fits perfectly under the ZR1 as well - and I bet the price does too... not for us folk, of course, it'll still be hugely expensive! :P

Don't know if this has been posted, but you can check out full pictures and specs of the 2012 ZL1 straight from GM at:

States most of everything about the car, including colors, gear ratios, audio, six way power seats, blue tooth, wireless pdim and usb, boston acoustics audio, and rear view camera. Interior color will be only in black. Key competitor is of course the GT500.

Looks like the gauge panel is going to be different as well. Tach and speed look to be round instead of rectangular.
