Your dealer is an idiot... just do it and they'll never know, or find another dealer

Why do you have to asked your dealer to do a mod to your car?

To be honest I'm not sure who I talked to..
I called the Salesmen that helped me and he said "I'll put you on the phone with someone who knows about that" Then the guy bill said nope.

Just keep the originals and slap them back on if needed. Plus, your dealer is wrong. Only if the aftermarket part causes a problem, will that damage not be covered.

I.E. if you're setting a rear O2 code because one of the aftermarket cats is inefficient - not covered. Oil pan leaks, because the gasket is leaking - covered.

If you want high flows, slap them on.

My dealer said they would install LT headers and Hi-Flo cats....only thing that gets voided is anything exhaust related.

just call around to service managers and you'll find one fast...believe it or not, they want your business. the dealer i bought my car from and the one down the street from me told me not to blow the engine or tranny and we'd be ok.

It all boils down to do you want a warrenty issue in the future. If you don't mind switching parts on and off (if something goes wrong) or you don't care about voiding warrenties at all. Then install what you want.

If you want your warrenty then play by thier rules.

It is true they would have to prove that the part caused the failure. And there are a few cases that a car that had been modded and ran into warrenty issue that the people actaully won.

Once again this is proof that the warranty is just something that keeps you from having more fun with YOUR car. Do eeeeeeeet... It's very liberating once that warranty is voided!

The only part of the warranty to would be voided is with the exhaust. As someone mentioned.....if you put them on and then you get a trans issue you should be ok. The cats have nothing to do with the trans.

Now...if one of your 02 sensors goes bad, they might make you pay for that.

BTW: You can take you car for warranty work to any GM dealer in the country. It's a GM warranty....not a dealership warranty. GM foots the bill.
