Two places that you can check in SoCal are West Coast Customs in Corona, and Gaplin Auto Sports in LA. If I had to choose between the two, I'd go with WCC. Gaplin is a Ford dealership.

Have you worked with either of them before? I was planning on calling WCC, but i have a feeling they are going to be pretty expensive just because of their celeb rep

Not sure that WCC can survive on celeb rep alone. I'm sure they are still somewhat well priced. It just might be more then most shops lol.

Try or contact Coach Auto Restyler and the contact person is Robert Ramirez.
I don't know if they do T-Tops or not but its a starting point being that they do install sunroofs with a factory appeal to them. No one knows the difference between buying it installed or aftermarket. Buddy of mine has used them and he was totally satisfied with the professionalism, work quality and ethic.

Met a guy here at work, we talked about his white SS for a bit and I noticed he had a reverse mohawk roof and a sunroof! I asked him about it and right away he said he wished I didn't notice. He said it was the worst thing he ever did to a brand new car. He regrets doing it because it just doesn't look or fit right. He wishes he had bought a sunroof car to begin with.

The car roof is not flat on a non-sunroof Camaro so the aftermarket finish was nowhere nearfactory quality. There is an ugly, fat, and raised rubber weatherstripping where the roof valley lines are and it leaked during the heavy rains in SoCal weeks ago. Looked like they pumped caulk-like goo in that area so stop the leak and the end result is fugly.

I hope your t-top project turns out well. Post pics.

Dude, you are going overboard on that car. The zeros are going to start dropping off if you keep it up!

Worst idea ever. I have seen people put T tops on hard top cars that were available with T tops from the factory and none of them were anywhere near nice looking. I can only imagine how bad the hack job would be on these cars.

I'm not sure if I'm doing this because of the cost but I'd like to if I can come up with the money.

These are the ones i'm looking at, from drop top customs:

I think those look pretty damn good IMO, but these one's dont (They're from WCC). I think the center part is way to wide and with the tops on it just doesnt look right.

Have you ever had a car with T tops? Mine were awesome for about a week, then got old REAL fast.

Nothing like parking at the movies, popping the trunk, get out and go to the trunk, pulling out the driver side T top, latching and locking it, going back to the trunk, pulling out the passenger side T top, latching and locking it and finally going back to the trunk to close it.

Not to mention you will have ZERO room in your trunk with the T tops off and stored in there.
I've had convertible, T top and hard top. Being able to go topless at a stop light is the best!

I see what you mean, but when I do have the t top off it will be for a nice drive down the coast, dont really plan on taking them off and storing them in the trunk that often. I haven't personally had t tops, but been in a 02 and really liked it. I have a 97 convertible and love it on nice days. I personally do not have a problem with getting them in and out on rare occasions I stop at the movies, etc.

I also just love the look of the T Tops, as I dont really care for vinyl verts and prefer the hardtop ones you see on BMWs and MBZ.

Sounds like that person had a terrible place install that sunroof. I have a sweet after market sunroof with no problems! Looks great too! I also had my car in NY with the rain storms over the summer, and there were no leaks, etc. I think it depends where you get it done...

Took less than a minute all told on my 4th gen. One of the things I miss the most.

Just so you can compare and apple to an apple, the DTC car already had a sunroof in it prior to the T-tops going in, where the WCC car did not.

If you look at the pictures you can see the WCC car kept most of the "mohawk" in place. You may want to keep in mind, if you put the T-tops in a car with the reverse mohawk, it could look kind of funny if you cut too deep into it.

The DTC car didn't have a center section to work with so they were able to cut the entire roof apart and start from scratch. If it's done right , I think that is the way to go. If it's off just a little.......

I guess it just comes down to which look you like better. I think the DTC car has a better overall look. Larger tops and a smaller center section, where the WCC car has a larger center section and smaller T-tops.

I'd be interested in seeing a pic of a WCC T-top Camaro that already had the sunroof to see if they kept the wide patch in the center.

This is just my observation. It's your investment, and your preference. I think it would look cool as hell, but after seeing the pic of the WCC car, I don't know if that is something I would want to do to a Camaro with the reverse mohawk. If DTC or WCC would fill in the reverse mohawk or come up with another way to keep it from looking odd, then I could pull the trigger.

Good luck with your decision

I don't lock mine, but even then it only takes me a minute to pull the tops off or put them on.
My only complaint is that mine leak. Both have shown a tendency to do it, but my driver's side one leaks in mild rain, which is a major pain to have to sit in.

Mine do leak. Oddly enough, my 96 never leaked even once. The 02 leaks every single time it gets wet.
