Width Dimension of Camaro ?

Hi,

Just been looking at specs for this car and website says its 75.5 inches wide.

Question - is that the width of car including the side mirrors OR the actual car itself (and not taking into consideration the mirrors)???

I am asking as my garage door is only 90 inches wide - pretty tight.......

I will not buy the car unless I can keep it warm at night

Well the Mustang is 73.9 without mirros and 79.3 with mirrors, so I would guess that 75.5 is without mirrors. So I would say about 81-81.5 with mirrors, judging by this pic. It will fit, one of my cars has just under 2" clearance on either side of garage, and it is not too bad. Again that is assuming 75.5 is not including mirrors, it may well be the other way around, I am just guessing.

Damn 29.9 inches of rear leg room is a joke. My Snoozuki has 35.9 and my friends barely fit back there.

Fellas, no need to search the web for this information. Utilize our camaro "WIKI" at the top of this page. It has everything that you need to know.

From what I have seen the maximum width is 75.5 with mirrors.

I've had 4 in Number 3 with no big problem. Not spacious, but very doable. If you want more room you should consider a sedan.

Just read what everybody says and still cannot see a figure for width including the mirrors.....

I am guessing nobody knows yet - I thought Chevy would release that info...

Thanks all, Nick

That's awesome news - didn't know that!

Do they do that with the press of a button or manually?

I thought I read on here they did not fold. And if they do I would be shocked if it was powered. You may want to double check the fold in feature.

Well, if you look at the frontal image above you'll notice that the edges of the mirrors seem to line up with the widest point of the sides of the car. So the width 'without' mirrors pretty much does include them.

Thanks for the help!

My garage is 90 inches wide (or door is) so it should get in ok - no way I would ship this car over the pond to keep it outside all the time.......we don't exactly get dry weather over here in England!!!

The mirror DO extend beyond the fenders, though only by a matter of 2-5 inches (I can't be exactly sure) on each side. The dimensioned picture above makes it appear as though the fenders are the widest part of the car because of perspective. Its not a true 2-D drawing. I would say that conservatively adding 8-10 inches to the width of the car (so 83.5-85.5) might be a good idea. For a 90-inch wide garage door, that won't leave much space. I'm in a similar pickle myself, in that I'm thinking about renting a garage, and I'm not sure I have enough margin of error to be comfortable. I hope Chevy makes the mirrors fold-able next time.

Makes sense. Another question: why does the manual ls weigh more than the automatic, but the manual weighs less than the auto in the lt?

I just went to a dealer and measured one in their showroom...82.5" mirror tip-to-mirror tip.

The mirrors only extend maybe less than 2" beyond the rear hips of the car. It is minimal extension.
