I have a 1SS with the L99. From all the tests I've seen it runs 0 to 60 in 4.6-4.8 seconds and quarter in 13-13.2. I have mine financed so I couldn't honestly answer you lease question.

If your vette is a auto C5 then the L99 will be right in line as far as 1/4 mile times. Low 13s to high 12s in good weather, my C5 ran 13.10 bone stock.

L99 will walk any stock Challenger (SRT8 excepted) like it's standing still. To my knowledge, it will even smack around an SRT8 from time to time...

Being a Vette guy you can't expect the same kind of acceleration from the heavier Camaro, but it's still damned quick! I think you'll love it

You may be the first person I've run into that's interested in leasing a Camaro, so I won't be any help to you there...

There really isnt much support for leasing an ss. The only really good lease deals right now is the new Cruze, Malibu, and Silverado. $400 a month probably won't happen and if it does the buyout after 36 months won't be attractive. Check with your local dealer to be sure.

Before I bought my SS, my wife suggested looking into leasing one being that I go through cars every 2 or 3 years.

I did, and it was actually cheaper for me to buy one instead of lease on BOTH ends......monthly payments AND total $ cost outlay at the end of 2 or 3 years.

Maybe see if you can rent one for a week? I know it is not to much time, but drive the hell out of it and see how you like it... might be able to make a purchase decision from that... I as well have Corvette experience and a SS, they are different animals. The Corvette will def take off faster but the SS still holds it own very well. You will not be disappointed, plus nothing a few mods cant fix.
