You Guys are in for a real experience!!

If any of you early buyers of the Camaro have never experienced owing a highly anticipated car very early in the production when very few are on the road yet you are in for an experience you will remember forever.

When I got my first Sky it was the very first one delivered in a 100 mile radius. needless to say it got so much attention, Many times it took me 15 minutes just to fill it up with gas because of all the questions I had to answer.
All the thumbs ups and questions of what kind of car is that? and the astonished looks when I sad "It's a Saturn" were priceless. Still to this day I get the same reaction from some people.

I can guarentee when you tell people it's a 2010 Camaro they will be shocked.
Be prepared to open the hood, the trunk, and let people see inside. You will even have people ask to sit in it.
I found it was major fun just to go to Cruise-ins around the area. stand back and listen to what people say... I never heard one bad comment about the Sky and I would say we won't with the Camaro either.

I am looking forward to taking Our Bumblebee around for people to see, I want to find some vintage first gen Camaros to park next to...

Enjoy this time, It only comes around once or twice in a lifetime... Luckily for me it will me my second time around.

I've had a few cars with the "wow" factor...it's actually one of the things I'm not looking forward to. It gets old having everyone gawk and nearly cause an accident. And god forbid if you're in a hurry and have to swing by the market....you will get swamped with questions.

It happens with classic cars. I always get people at restaurants or gas stations asking about my car. Or I get the random baby boomers who pull out their wallet to show me a picture of their first Camaro.

I am assuming that it will be better than when I got one of the first "3rd gen" 4-Runners! All I got was "huh, so thats the new 4-Runner? It's not as skinny as the old one."

I am hoping the reception is more along the lines of "Holy $hit! That is AWESOME!"

I think it will some people just have to get the first person feel before they buy.

This is why I'm happy I'm waiting for a year or so for Nav and HUD, I don't like random people in my car.

I'm a "wow" virgin. I'm gonna love every single moment if it! Most of the first day I drive it to work will be spent out in the parking lot showing it to everybody. Then I'll have to stay late to show it to all the second shifters.

Second shifters. I can hear it now. "If you work really hard and apply yourself you can get on first shift and afford one of these babys".

I was lucky to score one of the first special 1k Solstices (#83), I was the only one for three months (Sky was months away). I got my 06 Solstice on 8/26/05, people did not know what it was, but they loved it. The Camaro will bring the same reaction. I am on my third Solstice now, if you ever have the need for a true American roadster, may I highly suggest the Solstice GXP.

Since the two local dealers were allotted a total of 5 between them, and neither took preorders, it's possible I may be one of the first to own one in my area.

Every other dealer is about an hour away (I ordered from one of those).

Unless it takes them 3, 4, 5 or more months to get me mine anyway... That would give the two local ones the chance to sell anything they MAY have gotten in that time.

I look forward to losing my 'wow virginity'. LOL

Lol, I owned Solstice number 111. Very close!!

The preorder process is a bitch. I'm very surprised that I'm going through it again with the Camaro. Hopefully this turns out better for me. I sold my Solstice after having for about 3 months.

I had very similar experiences. Many people came up to me and said, "That's a Pontiac?!?!?". Quite funny.

This is a good thread... Believe it or not, I've been asked if my current '02 SS is the new 2010 a couple of times Lets you know how clean my daily driver is It did let me know that the people asking me had never seen the car but only heard of it.

I agree! My Solstice GXP is a great car, and I would choose it over any other car to drive as a fun second car

I was a lucky owner of a SSR BLack and Black #36.
Got it the year that it was the pace car at the Coke a Cola 600.
All kinds of lookers.
Had one time we parked way out in the boons at a store.
Came out and saw a lot of cars and people out by it. When we got there the first thing they said is can we see the top go down. HA HA

It was a lot of fun and great way to help pump up GM vehicles.

Am looking forward to a similar experience with my Camaro 2SS/RS. When I finally get it.
