Average Price to Paint a Hood?

I am getting this RKSport hood soon, and was wondering how much something like this would cost to have painted. I got my RKSport spoiler painted by a shop and they charged $160 which seemed high since the top part was left unpainted since it is carbon fiber. Anyone who has had an aftermarket hood painted post how much you paid. Thanks.

EDIT: To sort out the confusion... My SPOILER was $160 to paint how much would a hood cost to paint?

well in fact that is more work if the center is not painted.. thats more prep work, that area has to be masked off and they are still going to paint over the masked area to make sure they get equal coverage across the hood. so the center being unpainted dosnt really matter.

$160 For IOM i dont think is to bad

Thats a deal.If the did basecoat clearcoat over primer the materials were 2/3rd's of that cost.A hood would be 500.00 or so.

You misread my post. I said my spoiler was $160 to paint from a local body shop. Which I thought was high, especially since they really only painted the bottom half of the spoiler because the top half is CF. I want to know the price to paint a hood and I am thinking that place I got my spoiler done at will be way expensive.

Yeah, that is for sanding and stripes too so thats why the price is more. I was hoping maybe around $400. I really do not want to pay over $500, thats seems like a lot.

^^ I Agree.. 650-900... Unless your looking for a quicky job then 89.95 at Earl Shibe ..although he no longer operates them...

You get what you pay for. I'm painting my intake. Materials so far are 171.49 just for the paint and primer. That doesn't include paper and tape an cleaning supplies and proper disposal. ( I will have left over paint but you cant get 1/2 quarts in the color in wanted). Then there is labor to clean and prep tape and spray. Then wet sand and buff... A good paint job is not done in one day. Labor cost money and even though most auto body laborer guys don't make big money its labor intensive and takes man hours and that what your paying for.. Or not... with a quicky job. My guess is I'll have about 12-16 hrs into just painting my fast 102 intake... and you want a hood painted the right way.

I am not trying to be cheap, I just was expecting it to be less. I had no idea how much it cost.
