I just went looking at Lotus' with my buddy on Tuesday (he's too tall to fit in them). They're nice cars, but they're really more of a toy car than anything. I certainly wouldn't mind having one as my 3rd or 4th vehicle, but I'm getting the Camaro as my second vehicle.

i want something thats not around my area. which i think will be the case for a short time with the camaro. the lotus also puts up good numbers except top speed.the only concern was the size but im only 5'10 and i had a mazda rx8 and loved it

Lotus? Really. I didn't know they still made cars. Oh yeah that's right, they don't anymore and haven't since the Espirit.

Lotus? You mean the slowest fast car ever? It's really sad considering how tiny they are, you would think they'd go faster.
And they are ugly as hell. |

Do you want a purr, or a roar?
Do want stares or glances? Do you want a toy or a tough car? What kind of impression do you want to leave? How fast do you want to go? Why are you here? Think about it....You started a thread, on a Camaro forum you've spent almost a month on, begging us to re-persuade you into buying a Camaro. Look at your username. You already know which car you want. As nice a car as it may be, forget the Lotus. |

do you have any idea how fast you'd die if you ever were hit by a drunk/incompetant driver??

A tick over 13.0 sec. and you're through the quarter-mile. It's a rush, of course, but not overly dramatic. Try the same thing with this pair's predecessors of 1970 or so and you'll find yourself in a bit of a wrestling match. Ain't progress wonderful? Maybe yes, and maybe sometimes it's fun to wrestle."

an RX8 is not representative of the size of a lotus at all. im 6'4 and fit in an RX8 with room to spare. i have attempted to sit in a lotus and, well it didnt really work. size should be a concern also a lotus just isnt nearly as practical as a camaro. if you want to stand out just put 26" rims and your new car.........
