Sales@vararam. Hey! i'm sure this has been addressed somewhere in the 151 pages, (which i didn't want to search through) but are there any differences from the first models of vararams and ones available now? Do you still have to cut the brackets? Are people really seeing 25+ HP at the wheels? Any downside in gas mileage or any other cons you'd be willing to address?? Thanks for your time and input.

Let me help you just in case they may take alil to reply! I was the 4th person to own the VR and I have dyno'd my car since then also. The RWHP claimed is on point with what I have seen on the dyno. But remember this intake wasn't made for dyno sessions. It's on the road with the ram effect where you see the real performance. And from what I can tell they have worked out all the known issues (Which had nothing to do with performance just fitments)and offer the cut brackets for extra. You will get the final version! And they customer service is awesome so any issues you will get taken care of. I have dealt with them recently and top notch service!!!

Just got my V6 VR, first sentence in instructions say to cut off .24X .38 long tab on back side of radiator brackets with wire cutters?
1. Where and what is this referring to? pics?
2. Do I need to take out the inside rubber grommet? Written directions say yes?

Thanks

If you bought the precut pieces then disregard. The instructions are for people who did not purchase the pre cut ones. enjoy the intake

The vararam sits just as it did after they installed it in the video. Never had any movement at all.

I just installed the same combination on Saturday morning. Easy install on both items. I've got my 100 miles on the new set up but I haven't had the chance to open it up just yet. I'm wondering if a RX catch can is next on the list. Since the PCV doesn't vent through the breather, is there still a need for the catch can? Any guidance is welcome.

If you live down a dirt or shell road you'll have to clean any filter a lot.

Well I wasn't really sold on air intakes, I suppose since my other cars have been 4 bangers where air intakes do nothing for performance but add a nice sound. It seems like you guys (and gals) are sold on this vararam intake though. I just purchased one. This will be my first "performance" mod to my camaro.

If you don't notice a difference I'll be shocked. Install it...drive it around normally and give it time for the ECM to adjust fully and you'll be good to go...heck you will probably even notice a difference during the learning curve.

But really, any aftermarket intake is better than stock. Just let the stock one get heak soaked once and you'll understand why.

EDIT:: READ THIS

Just noticed you had a 2012! Vararam will not work on your car as the coolant cap is in a different location than the 2010s and 2011s and blocks the area Vararam sits at. Bummer man.

VR says they have plans to do a 2012, but so far we haven't heard much about it. There are some companies that are doing intakes for the 2012s though like Rotofab or CAI....and I thought I heard there may even be a new Injen for it but I'm not certain on that. Any of these are still better than stock easily.

I'll take your word for it. Being in central PA and having just bought the car new in December, I haven't had to worry about any heat soak yet.

Just want to say hi and that I am excited after reading this thread about the Vararam. I am planning on adding a supercharger in the future, but need something to hold me over in the mean time. Currently have the SLP loud mouth exhaust. Plan on doing the BBK long tube headers with high flow cat very soon, which coupled with the vararam should make for some pretty good numbers until the supercharger market is perfected. I will post pics soon and keep you all updated I was planning on adding Cold Air Inductions CAI but it looks like based on the numbers that this is now the best thing running!

Ov3rdriv3, this is a quick thread jack, but i noticed you're going to get BBK headers. If you get them before the end of March and use the coupon code Spring1 or Spring2 you'll get 10-15% off saving you about a 135 dollars. (Just wanted to help you out)

....I hope they don't get mad that i keep telling people this haha
