Another newbie

I've been enjoying this great site for months -- time to join! I'm retired from GM (mostly with Cadillac). Used to pass the Fbodfather in the "halls" at the Ren Cen (Gm Hqtrs) occasionally -- never knew him personally, but knew of him. We're fortunate to have him involved with Camaro today.

I'm getting close to ordering a Silver Ice/Black 2SS/RS L99 (Dlr needs to confirm final agreement for GMS order).

Look forward to hearing the reactions to those early deliveries and first drives in your very own Camaro!

So how long ago did you retire from GM? And what sort of work did you do while there?

Oh, and welcome to Camaro5

It's a bit above freezing, so all the snow that fell here earlier this week is thawing away. I can not wait for summer.

I retired three years ago. Used to work in Finance (Product Program Analysis). The last program I worked on was the Cadillac CTS -- and also some Pricing assignments. Always enjoyed working on the stuff that was several years away. Had the good fortune to work with a lot of sharp guys (& gals) who really put in the time and worked hard. I still believe GM will come roaring back --- they're building too much GREAT stuff not to! I loved my job -- but retirement opportunity came at the right time.

I might be past sixty, but feel like thirty and looking forward to 400 Hp in a V8. Glad to see that so many young guys love the kind of cars that I did in the sixtys.

Just for giggles someone should start a thread/poll to find out how many members of this forum are present/past employees of GM or how they are affiliated with GM. >moderator?

^First, welcome to Camaro5, GoldBowtie!!! Great to have you here!

and phatman, I don't know if some of those employees (current) would want to be known just for the simple fact they might be afraid to say something and have it come back to bite them in the rear.

I know we have quite a few on here...from the plant, to GM, to parts, to GMPP, to powertrain...a WHOLE bunch. I also wonder just how many. I bet it's a LOT!!!

There are more of 'them' than there are of 'us' around here, I can rhyme off half a dozen right now off the top of my head and I know there are others who wish to remain anonymous like Tag said.
