Center channel speaker ... nope. EZPass holder!!!

Not that this is a super crazy DIY but I'm not one to like having this ugly white box sticking to the inside of my windshield.

So a while back, I disconnected the center channel speaker of my BA system and then sold the speakers after I did my stereo install. But it still leaves the center channel speaker area in the dash.

On my way back from the car show today, I went through the toll booth with my ezpass on my dashboard. But I had it sitting on the grating for the center channel speaker. Then I thought to myself, "would my EZPass fit in this area."

So I tried and voila, hidden EZPass holder so now I can pay my tolls without having that ugly white box stuck to my windshield.

Question is, does it read? NTTA gives us the dang sticker rfid. No longer have those plastic ones. Hate it. Have it laying in the dash under the regi. tag

Yes it reads. This style is the new style used by NJ EZPass.

These were the old ones, which clearly wouldn't fit in the opening.

Dang, that's huge. What you have now as the new style is our old style tags for NTTA. Now we have a credit card size sticker that we have to stick behind the mirror that has an embedded RFID. I loved the old style because I could move it wherever. The stickers are not transferable and destroy itself when removed.

In cali we have "fasttrak", I put it behind the rear view mirror to the left side. Its on the black part of windshield with velcro so you can't see it sticking out from the outside. Our fasttrak box is about 3" by 3" I believe.

Always kept mine in the glove box. Never got a ticket and always 'bleeped'. I would usually turn radio down so i could hear the bleep though.

When I took my center speaker out, I used the space for my Viper smart start gps module.
