IDK if what I said confused anybody, but these Impalas, which are the current NON-ZETA Impalas are FWD and on the W platform. I just had to look up the W part.

The Zeta Impalas probably wont be out for at least another year because on chevy.com they have 2008 impalas already listed which are the exact same as the 06-07's. The checkered camo car could possibly be an Impala only because of the projectors that the new Malibu doesn't have. I really have no idea if it is or not, but it looks like a possible Zeta to me?

I hope this clears any confusion

Even though my first thought was Accura or the new Sonata,... I think it'd be a good change for Chevy.

The Impala back in the day was a muscle car right up there with Camaro. Now they have made it a family sedan. And what's with the new body style anyway?

If Chevy does intend on making this the new Impala, I am sure it'll be a hot seller. It's a smoking looking ride,... that's for sure.

Actually, the IMpala always was a family Sedan...it just had some perks in the engine/suspension...but in all practicality, it was a huge boat of a car...not so much a "muscle car".

Bah! well reguardless to many person's belief,to me,the impala is the best car i've owned ..probably bacuse its the only that hasnt left me stranded,i've put much care into my sedan, and i enjoy every moment driving it,though i am glad its a v6 saves me some cash, haha i've been browsing around the web, looking at alot of web-sites..and my belief is that THAT car is the Malibu..possibly lumina, but i doubt thats the impala, ohh and about the name "impala" the honest real reason i like it is because i missed out on the "real?" impalas can i say..? and to me,its not the car..tho i do love it,its the fact that i got MY chance to have one of my own,not being the first generation's i still like the whole...nostalgia behind the name..thats my 2 cents

+1 We all feel that way, I'm sure!

As per the Impala. If it was always a family car, with 'special' engine options...then I have to say, it hasn't changed any(besides the whole FWD miss-step). Up till next year, what other 'family sedan' in the GM lineup comes with a V8?

I didn't know the Grand Prix offered a V8, and I've never paid attention to the Bonneville (being honest here, ). I don't often forget about Pontiac...whoops!
