I hope GM doesn't do this. we have a ZL1 to whoop the GT500 with.

And we need something to put the Boss in its place too.

I am waiting for the 2012 ZL1. the recent GT500 news does put a new spin on things, but spinning is something I think the GT500 is going to have a problem with, traction control or not. The ZL1 has a lot of development behind it and it is good to go. Later, when Chevy pumps even more power into it, the car will be that much more capable of handling it.

but we need something to put the Boss in its place from the factory.

THAT should be the Z28. Relegating it to a Track Pack is an insult.

Exactly! As we have previously discussed that, but, answer this guys, how can GM heat up a LS3 and put in within emissions standards?....and thats what I want as well, a N/A motor. All we have is the LS3, LS7, LS9, and LSV thats a certified production motor..are they going to "go through it" and bump it up for the Z? We know theres too much involved time and $ wise to do that. What's our recourse, the LS7? That thought keeps getting back shelved. WE all want, I think, a mid level Z between the SS and the ZL1. Whats the motor going to be? We pretty much see the future with the enhanced suspension, ZL1 tires and rubber, and MRC...where's the beef? Sticking a non recallibrated LS3 in it would be useless...spending the money to revamp the LS3 isn't going to be done, unless someone knows a program is ongoing to do so. GMPP motors are off road only. Mac, get out the Majic 8 ball and ask...LOL

I am thinking that Vette sales could use a bump before the next model so we could see a bump in the base engine. Psss, Chevrolet, hint, Hint, HINT

Have you looked at the dry sump LS3 that comes in the Vette GS add that with a set of heads and a better intake manifold and you can find 30-50 HP

until the SCCA allows it MR should not be on a road track car. . . only on cars not intended for the track like the ZL1. the Z06 is the road track car and does not have it.

The dry-sump LS3 is hand-assembled in Wixom...taking the same labor as an LS7 built in the same facility. By the time the heads/intake/cam are upgraded, then certified and validated to RPO standards, the cost differential between a dry upgraded LS3 and an LS7 will dissipate...quickly...but you still won't have an LS7...

With regards to MRC, I'd personally prefer it as an option (1LE on SS, freeflow on a ZEE), with an "enhanced FE4" as a standard feature on a Z/28. Base pricing for the Z/28 would be lower, broadening the potential "base" of buyers, and affording the required engine upgrade...

I don't think we will see an LS7 in a camaro until the vette changes engines. If there was a camaro Z/28 to come out I think that it would have a beefed up LS3 and they would shave some luxuries off the car. My two cents

Look's like the "Track Pack" might be coming as an 1LE instead of the other "Z/ something" but it's all good because the more performance options we have to choose from the better.

This is the Caprice police engine option which also shares the same book code as the Camaro, so do not let this confuse you to think its' destined for the Camaro.
