Glass ceilings and Pedders Bulls... I can see clearly now, all the corporate glass has gone away

Btw, anyone remember when the ZL1 LSA would not have more power than the CTS-V

If ifs and buts were candy and nuts we would all have a merry christmas but IF there were A z/28
Who is to say it would be less cost than a zl1?

I say buy what makes YOU happy and might be able to afford.
Whether its zl1, z28, a ss camaro, a v6 camaro, or a v8 camAro. Buy it if it will make you happy.

Taffee'd testicles are NOT what we seek, here...and that is what would be required, metaphorically, for a ZEE to exceed the ZL1 price-point.

After yesterday's pricing announcement, it is painfully clear the $40s have been abandoned out of necessity due to the high level of comfort and performance equipment the ZL1 features. So...

Less is more...

Let's get "back to basics". A more basic level of trim and doodads. A more basic powerplant, devoid of weighty power adders. A more basic suspension set-up, perhaps more akin to the SSX than the 1LE.

BASIC. 1SS platform. 1LS Trim.

PURPOSEFUL. A "driver's" car, NOT a "rider's" car. A car that encourages taking the l-o-n-g way home. A car all your senses respond to...

POWERFUL. A willing screamer. A throbbing exhaust note, basso-profundo. Simply a symphony, of expectation meeting actuality...building to a crescendo!

Care for a cigarette?

REWARDING. Personal merit achieved when you cut an apex just right, and thunder towards the next turn...on the two-lane OR at the track...

Pretenses absent; poseurs directed elsewhere...

Exactamundo mon frere!!!! There's a price void that has been created. Enter the Z28. Low rider, big rubber. Stiff suspension. Loud. N/A with cold air package. Skip some of the creature comfort items and trick gizmo's. One dimentional road racer with single target audience in mind. Noisy, bone jarring, gut punching ride. With a stereo to match. Thats my past. I want to relieve it in modern form.

Z/28 inanity or in your face Ford and Chrysler?

So what would we all think if Chevrolet went crazy and gave us almost everything we want but instead of a LS7 dropped in a LS9???

If that's the case the ZL1 should be moved up to the LS9 (it's probably not out of the question). That being said I'd really like to see the 1LE with an option of an MR or Pedders suspension and the option of a 450HP LS3 or a 525HP LS7.

The Z/28 needs to be released with the new body style. Too many different versions of the 5th Gen are out.

Coupe
Convertible
SS
Convertible SS
Z28
Convertible Z28?
ZL1
Convertible ZL1

I'm thinking about the Corvette, and how I always thought there were enough to make its own brand (though only when joking, I think the idea is horrible in reality)...

Coupe
Convertible
GS
GS Convertible
Z06
ZR1

Adding a Z28 would fill up the lineup, huh? But people like choices...I'll bet if they could do it ala 1LE (minimal development cost), they could probably make a case for defending a few stolen SS sales by saying they're really not losing any money to do it...

If we accept an off the shelf LS7 there would be little need for any validation of the ZL1 drive line delivering a cost effective Z/28.

Actually, for the way an SS-1LE is likely to be driven/used, perhaps the ZL1 HD driveline bits would be worthy of warranty-related inclusion for that version...if offered...as well... Validation-approved; spread the costs further; virtually bullet-proof behind an LS3, even with sticky tires...and the pieces exist.

LS9 = LSA + $10Gs (if done in Oshawa), making a ZL-Won a near-$70 experience...gulp!

LS7 with only "the necessities" should appear well under $50

1SS-1LE/LS3 should straddle $40, driveline-dependant

Enhanced LS3, by the time all the issues are addressed...and paid for...splits the LS3-LS7 rail fence...
