Dale Jr heritage grill & Chevy bowtie.
Has anyone noticed that on Jr's car the the heritage grill has the gold bowtie on the center of it, but if you go gmpp and look that accessory up it shows it without the bowtie. I was wonderin if anyones knows if the heritage grill does or does not come with the bowtie. Thanks!

I believe I've read more updated info that the Heritage Grille DOES come with the Bowtie now. I like it with or without. I'll be getting the Heritage Grille for sure.

If it does come on it, I wonder the grill has a permanent place for it, or if it just clips? It really isn't a big deal to me either way, I am just a lil curious, in case I ever wanted to customize with something different than the factory bowtie. Thanks!

It would've been nice if that grill and chin spoiler were standard on the SS.

I remember reading the grille comes with the bowite...let me check
EDIT: Besides Robin, who's our other contributing GMPP guy??????? I am 905% sure he posted that the heritage grille has the bowtie. Anyone recall?? EDIT2: Sorry, I failed. I did find the other guy (JohnnyCamaro aka John Cox), but I could not find any verification post by Robin or John regarding the grille. I still stand by the statement that I read it from a relaiable source....

Hey Silver Streak...sorry for the double post, but since you are heading back down to Daytona tomorrow, can you take extreme closeup pics of the Dale Jr bowtie. Maybe you can figure out (or ask) regarding this and come away with an answer. Thanks.

It was mentioned in the IDL that the grille comes with a bowtie. It was in the same IDL as the one about the month delay, so that may have been overlooked in the rush to start rumors and rampant speculation.

I think it was Robin from GMPP who said it.
However, I'm saying for fact that the grill DOES come with the bowtie. Yes...it will be there. |

Anyone know whether you might be able to get the grille insert after you buy the car and then potentially install it yourself? I'm thinking I'd like it painted to match the body, but it would also be kind of fun to be able to swap from heritage to regular "on a whim."

OK,
I just got back from Daytona and spent some time really looking at the grille on JR's car. The bowtie is held inplace by washers and wingnuts. And there is no cutout in the grille for the bowtie. Meaning, you can easily remove the emblem and have a smooth front grille if you want. The factory grille does have a cut out but you can remove the bowtie. It will look IMO.I'm not sure if GMPP parts will be the same way. As we haven't seen one yet. but I wanted to throw this out there. |

me too, I hope it ias easy as the Jeep Liberty i have, it has 4 snaps you lift up on and then you just pull it out, the bottom is held in by tabs that match holes in the front bumper.
Since they only allow an hour and a half to install i guess it is not going to be too difficult but harder than my Jeep.

Ill take a full billet grille or the heritage grille with no bowtie. If people dont know its a chevy without a bowtie then they are idiots anyway. I think it looks alot cleaner without it.
