just...can't...stop...

I swear this crap's addicting...

Working something with a vendor/forum sponsor... really hoping it comes through...

in the meantime-

A little "Never Dull" and some elbow grease, followed by Turtle Wax Polish compound and viola'!

(tower brace... for those wondering what you're looking at...)

I guess the images don;t quite do it justice.. it was a DULL grey before... seeing the change dropped my jaw!

lighting...

Fairly self explanitory...

A few sets of blue LED's... realatively cheap mod, but made a nice impact!

Sport Bar...

Revolutions SUper Sport reached out to me and offered a pretty good deal on the DT Sport Bar. I always liked the look, but was a little skeptical about the price. So when they made me an offer, I had to jump.

Install was fairly straight forward for the most part. A little confusing as to which bracket mounts to which side, but other than that simple. I had a HUGE issue getting the bar to fit in the mounts... without force, it lined up about a full 1" off center of the whole (too wide.) After some manuevering, I was able to get it on, but still the passenger side isn't completely flush with the trim pannels, it sits up in the front about 1/8"... I'm a stickler- it bugs me.

The whole bar angle is slightly too high in the front, and conversly too low in the rear- you can feel it pushing the trim pieces down in the back ever so slightly. Not a huge issue, just saying.

Clearance is close, but clear everywhere except on the rear outer edge of the bar, about 6" up from the trim, there I noticed the inside of the top does make contact with the bar on both sides... that worries me.

Otherwise, good to go! Directions coulda been a little more clear as to bracket direction (and even bar direction wasn't known until mid way through) Involved cutting a hole into the trim pieces which I wasn;t too fond of- but I guess there's no other way regardless as well as cutting some of the inner plastic -again, not a fan of removing parts of the vehicle...

Bar holds in place with small allen wrench bolts and a lot of force... I doubt it's going anywhere!

So here it is:

(Oh yeah- the logo's were my own touch courtesy of GM Partshouse)

Thanks Tag!

Need to update as well-

Didn't test drive prior to posting... found out, mounting brackets pinched the seat belts, thus rendering them unable to retract. I lulled apart and realized the brackets were installed in the opposite sides; once corrected, a perfect fit, angle wise. As for the seat belts, that took about 2 hours of trial and error and dremmel work to get functioning. Probably coulda been fixed easier with a few strategicly placed washers, but home depot was closed already, so make do lol!

Once "properly" installed, it still touches the top which concerns me, but otherwise looks phenominal! Turned some heads in traffic today!

I have to say I love everything that you have done to your ride and totally jealous of it. Good work.

That is one SWEET vert! I just signed for a Black 2011 2SS vert today. I need to ask where you got the "SS" badges on each side of your sport bar. Looks awesome...

Thanks!

Gmpartshouse.com I think it was... they're a forum sponsor on here, some ppl have had mixed reviews, but I've had great experiences with Patrick, their service rep. Twice I've asked for items they didn't have listed (including the white SS badges) and both times he got em for me- dirt cheap too... maybe $12 each... shipping was almost as much as the emblems though!

Enjoy your vert! Keep an eye on the top for the rub/wear marks on the sides, and the water management bag as well as the #5 bow ... those are the main issues we're all experiencing; all, some or none of the above. Still a really fun car; enjoy!

Twin Exhaust Tips finally installed

Took awhile to find, but I finally got my Bezels Poder Coated and dual/twin exhaust tips installed.

3 Different manufactures before I found tips that'd fit, 2.5" to dual 3" staggered. They're out a lil further than I'd have liked, but the width was too much to recess them any more. Overall I'm happy to finally have a tip solution!

Interior Panel Swap/ABL

**Disclaimer**

Waiting on a certain company to restock their flexable light tubes to finish this "properly"... not content with the final ABL...

But anyway, was VERY lucky to get with Becky and Maureen at Roger Chevy... where I bought the last set of "Olympic White" trim panels, as GM's on backorder... very simple to do, followed BumbleeBee2009SS's DIY which walked me through easily... only change is I used a Dremmel to clip the melted bolt heads instead of an exacto knife...

I sanded the door panels to allow the ABL to continue to the dash. The white is far more transparent overall than the silver was- theres a bit of a radient light, especially on the dash trim from the pipes. I used colored duct tape to block it out, otherwise you plainly saw the shadow of the double side holding the clips on... Dunno if it's cuz its noew, or aftermarket, but the clips pull the trim in much tighter than the stock did, thus making it difficult to get an appropriate sized "gap" to allow the light to shine up. For the time being I've got my passenger tube resting at the top- vitually unoticeable during the day as it blends with the white panels...

great looking car!

I just picked up a white one myself with black racing strips and black soft top - you are certainly inspiring me to make a few more customizations!
