Any camaro owners have a solution for this eye sore?

Hey team!

Pretty tired of looking at this eye soar!

Anybody know where I can get the volume knob rubber?

Please let me know. Thanks! ... I love this forum! 😁

Your best bet is a junk yard, or maybe ebay

I think he's referring to the hideous orange volume knob.

But yes, the plastic screen above it needs help too

Assuming you're talking about that (for some reason) one ugly orange knob it should just pull off. It's just a stick on I've seen them at phastek.

As for the screen it looks like it's just needs some glass cleaner. If it is scratched lightly an old trick I was taught a little wax will fill in the blemishes just fine.

I thought the OP was talking about the scratches at first too. I think that looks worse than the missing knob. Anyway this is what I did to mine, got the ACC brushed trim plates with polished knobs. Is sure looks nicer than looking at all that unecessary scratch prone plastic.

It looks like he cut a screen protector from my pattern!

Radio Screen Protector

Time for a new one...

That volume knob is ugly. There are kits available with sets of knobs, some look pretty nice.

Missing knobs can be replaced for the cost of a bottle of beer.

That looks pretty awesome. Too bad it wouldn't work with our cars because the center of the button needs to be able to be pushed in

Anyone willing to volunteer and try to clean the scratches with toothpaste? I've done it before with fine scratches and plastic and the results were incredible. You just rub on it with toothpaste and your figure then wipe off. I'm too afraid to try it but if it works it could be a game changer...

Hey you guys can avoid scratching your screens by NOT using paper towels and brillo pads or other abrasive rags to clean your vehicle! Use the softest, plushest, microfiber rags you can find along with a gentle cleaner like Meguiars interior detailer. To fix prior damage I think GM uses Meguiars Plastic-X. The screen does scratch too easy though (like their crappy paint).

That's not an orange custom knob, it's the transparent plastic underneath the stock rubber knob that the light shines through to form the ring.

You can't get that rubber knob separately brand new, the only thing you can do is either buy a new radio face ($400+) or go to a junkyard and get one off a used car.

I wonder if you can polish the plastic with one of those headlight restoration kits?

It's always better to try the least aggressive first.
Headlight kits are on the most aggressive side.

Scope here:
Cosmetic Maintenance: Washing, Waxing, Detailing, Bodywork, Protection
