Thanks GM, My daughter survived accident

Early this AM my 32 yo daughter hydroplaned in heavy rain on the way to work on I 65 between Springfield, TN & Bowling Green, Ky. She spun out & repeatedly hit a retaining wall with both front & back of her little Chevy Aveo. That little car has been through a lot. Probably has over 150,000 mi on it. Has hit a deer & Jina was uninjured, heavily hail damaged in a storm, & kept going. Jina was taken to the hospital in Franklin, KY this AM, treated & released. She is pretty battered/bruised up, has a cut, bad contusions & concussion from her seat breaking & head hitting where the seat belt attaches to the car breaking it. No pics yet. Car was towed to a lot where it is locked in so we can't get in to take pics yet. But bottom line, she has no major injuries. That little Chevy protected her through a pretty bad accident. It is clearly totaled but she will be okay. Thanks so much Chevy/GM for building cars (even really small ones) that protect occupants in crashes. I love GM!

It's always gratifying when you hear real world accounts like this. It's what we engineer the cars to do but we also hope that it never has to.

Very glad she is fine and made through what sounds like a very scary event.

Thank you for a job well done. Cars can be replaced but daughters cannot.

Glad to hear she's okay. My brother was in an accident and HE flipped and him and the other 4 passengers were untouched in his Lexus so it's always great to see that these Cars
Are built for the worst and I'm confident the camaro would be no different although I hope I never find out.

Always good to hear something like that. Considering her luck with accidents, you may want to go with something a little larger next time around!

Vey glad to hear your daughter is ok. With as much crap as some people have given that little car, it is very nice to hear a positive story. That is a tribute to the safety of that car despite the haters. I'm so glad she came out ok.

Glad to hear she's all right.

And I agree it's time to look at a Cruze. 10 standard airbags.

Thank goodness she's okay! Here's to a speedy recovery.
I'm a little surprised the Aveo took that big of a beating and left her in as good of a condition as she was in. A big kudos to GM for designing such a safe sub-compact.
