Insurance guy is coming tomorrow at 9:30. Fingers crossed for a nice fat estimate. I've got some thoughts churning in my head, but I am not writing anything down until after the estimate.

That's the sound I've been hearing... Now I get it....

I was in your shoes a couple of weeks ago... lots of plans based on a potential settlement and then actuality when I knew what it was...

Good Luck...

First, the adjuster showed up 30 minutes late - but you know what, I was OK with it because he was going to give me money. First thing he says when he sees Kaylee "man someone keyed the shit out of that." I ask him about whether repainting Kaylee will diminish her overall value. Nope.

So then he went back into his car and started to write up the estimate. Longest 25 minutes ever.

First thing I noticed was the per hour rates. Geico is way under the body shop's rates. Now the adjuster gave me a "supplement" form that I am supposed to give the body shop in the event that they need more money for the repairs and what not. Which was nice of him. So I'm going to wait until later this afternoon/evening to call Eric (the adjuster) back and letting him know the bodyshops estimate and their rates (so he has a ballpark to go off of). Hopefully he will adjust my estimate accordingly.

Now the one bit of good news - it's pretty awesome news though. I told Eric that I would more than likely wait until I get home in May to get Kaylee repaired/repainted and because of that I still haven't picked a body shop. So to make everyone's lives easier Geico is just making the check out to me instead of to me and my to-be body shop. So IF the damage isn't as bad as it looks I will be a very happy camper, but I'm not holding my breath on that.

bought them used off of another member. But they were made by DSV Customs. Indpowr tells me that it was the only set they made

EDIT: The weave is really well done. I personally can't find any flaws in it. I want to say it is a 4x4 weave, but I don't know for sure.

So I found a great deal on Craigslist for a Hurst shifter - $100 shipped. While I'm perfectly happy with my OEM Hurst I couldn't pass up the deal.

Only downside is that I want to keep my OEM Hurst shift knob and as you can see the adapter wasn't included in my purchase But I'm still not complaining. So I, well rather Ofer (2SSRS), got in contact with Hurst and what do you know they are sending me an adapter free of charge. Can you say customer freaking service? I couldn't be happier about how this got handled. Hurst totally went above and beyond the call of duty.

My dash came today

I spent about an hour getting the software all figured out. They only make it for Windows so I had to boot up my Parallels program on my macbook to get it to work.

I went with this brand/model because it has a 170 degree camera. I didn't care so much about having video inside car, as I got the camera for vandalism purposes. One thing I hate though, I won't have time until this weekend to hard wire the camera to the car :( and our stupid 12V outlets are only hot when the key is in the ignition Anyway, I'll install it this weekend and I'll be sure to post a short of clip of video quality as well.

Russ, you are awesome. Thank you much. After I give Kaylee a bath this weekend I might send you some more flattering pictures of her if that's alright. If it's a bunch of work to swap them out then no worries.
