You're the Stig?!? Noooo. Maybe? Hmmmmm *don't know who to trust*

So when I received the box that my camera came in, the "Do Not Accept if Broken" (see photo below) seal was broken I sent an email to the Amazon vendor and the response was

"It seems that you have received the 120 degrees which is much better than the 170. The 170 has a bubbly picture quality. The 120 has a more clear picture too. We will send you the picture comparison by tomorrow.
The item is brand new, we just checked the camera and updated its firmware. You still have 1 year warranty on it."

WTH?!? The 120 is better? I don't care. I ordered the 170 because that's the one I wanted. I did some more digging and called D-TEG (company that makes the camera) and spoke with a very nice guy names Chris. It explained to Chris what was going on and how I was now unsure if I had the 120 or 170 degree version, in doing so I read him the quoted text above. His only response was "I'll be having words with our dealer then." So good/bad? But I'm waiting to here back from Chris. I'm not upset or anything - I just want my damn 170 degree surveillance camera.

Exactly. This is the whole email

Hello Raimund.
It seems that you have received the 120 degrees which is much better than the 170. The 170 has a bubbly picture quality. The 120 has a more clear picture too. We will send you the picture comparison by tomorrow.
The item is brand new, we just checked the camera and updated its firmware. You still have 1 year warranty on it.
If you decided to keep the unit, we will reinburse 10% of the amount.
Please wait for the picture comparison tomorrow and hopefully you will agree that the 120 is better.
What is the serial number on the camera?
Regards,
John

What shocks me is that had I not sent them an email about the packaging I probably never would have known the difference.

Is there a time limit on when you can reject something after you receive it? I've seen stuff like this before where they do the ol switcheroo and ask you to wait till they send you something else... then by the time they send it, you are out of your (typically 3 day) window to return the product or file a claim.

Well that's probably because they know you've already bought and returned 5 other cut outs

Seriously though, if they don't email me back today (like they said they would) with some kind of update I'm leaving one hell of a negative review on Amazon.

Camera is installed My original plan was just to use a piggyback fuse and plug it into the Onstar fuse on the driver's side (inside the cabin). But turns out that Onstar isn't on when the car is off Ofer was nice enough to let me know that the Homelink buttons are always hot - so out came the over head console. I was really trying to avoid this, it's not hard - it's just a PIA.

Look at home much fun it is! As you can see, it's dark outside. I used the flashlight app on my iphone for light. Had to hold it under my chin, not fun at all.

I got the camera all hooked up, and it turned on

It's really dark out, and it's Friday night. Decided I would just let the camera record for the night and I'll clean up the mess in the morning. I'm also super excited to review the review the video. I parked under a street light (like usual) so hopefully there's enough light.

*edit* being inside Kaylee for like 45 with the ABL made me REALLY want to fix my dash ABL.

If anyone is or knows someone who is good at video/audio editing I'd really appreciate it. Need some help getting rid of the background noise.
