I am so sorry that you have to go through this. It may not seem like it now but things will get better. Good luck with the settlement and I hope to see pictures of your new Camaro soon.

Sorry for your loss RJ, it really is a shame. Sending some $$ your way. It's not much, but every little bit helps.

RJ, I just sent you a PM. I wanted to thank you. I didn't know about your car, and you've always been my go to. I asked you to sticky a thread yesterday and promptly got a reply "done". I appreciate all you do on the forums and for Camaros. Even going though all this, you helped me without hesitation for my stupid request.

Thank you. I hope you are back in the saddle soon. Caroline is not in the same league as kaylee was, but I've known since I got her that I would keep her forever. I can't imagine losing my "first love" to a fire. I'm praying for you.

Regards,

Randall

Thank you much man, appreciate it. I think I'll be ok on the whole taxes front, I love Camaro5 and all of the support you all have given me this past week has been a life saver. Especially some of the vendors who went completely out of their way to help me with insurance and understanding the whole process of "actual cash value." Camaro5 has truly been a god-send to me, don't know what I'd do if I didn't have this place.

So again, and I know I've said this a lot the past few days, but thank you guys.

So insurance called me this morning..........it was pretty bad. Not to go into specifics, but this will give you an idea of how the numbers came out: my Racing Brake rotors, Hawk HPS pads, and Racing Brake stainless steel brake lines (which were installed not even two weeks ago mind you) - insurance evaluated that they were worth.....drum roll please.....$250. Like I said, would have made one hell of an SVU episode.

Just saw this tragedy and all I can say is sorry! This really sucks. You had such a beautiful car. Hopefully you come out ok on insurance and are back in a new Camaro soon. I'm just glad you weren't hurt. Hang in there.

RJ ... so extremely sorry for the loss of Kaylee. As others have said, thank god you weren't hurt. We all understand the level of passion you had for her simply by the way you help the rest of us out with our modding endeavors.

I for one will be donating what I can to assist you. I have also posted information on our local club's website (http://www.badgerstatecamaro.com) about Ofer's donation page to assist in spreading the word.

Best of luck to you my friend. We will miss Kaylee but, we are very thankful to still have you.

Sincerely,
Tony Sawyer (Raptor)

Thank you much Tony, really appreciate it. Like really really, I'm going to need all the help I can get thanks to insurance.

Thank you - I'm hoping it all works out too. I mean I'm sure it will eventually, but "eventually" doesn't really have a positive ring to it.

So they've told you the total they're going to reimburse you? Sounds like their estimate of the "value" of the RB rotors and all is basically scrap metal value. You might actually be able to get more out of it scrapping and parting out anything salvageable yourself. Find out what they'll give you with you retaining title for salvage.

I'm holding off on asking about that until I get a couple other "discrepancies" in how they came up with their "value" worked out. Because the fire didn't really touch anything back of the rear quarter windows, so rear coilovers, rotors, bushings, etc. should all still be fine. That and I kind of promised CamaroSpike23, if and only if the numbers worked out, Kaylee's frame and body (or what's left) so he could have a fun track project.

Well considering the email response I got to asking about the "discrepancies" was typed in all CAPS - I don't think my insurance company is used to people auditing their work.

edit: this is reminding me of the first body shop I took Kaylee too, where the guy would send every email in all caps

I forgot about the AND over 200 transactions... I was thinking it was 20k OR 200 would trigger it.

Considering the site has almost 80k members, if only 1000 people donate 20 bucks each, that would easily meet the requirements.

I don't know about "easily" but you're right - it could happen.

Sorry - I'm just kind of in a funk after talking with insurance this morning.

Yep. Worst part is that they put the purchase price next to the "depreciated value" - purchase price they listed $835. I gave them the receipts, there's no combination of numbers on the receipt that add up to $835.
