Set up? Yeah... .40 caliber S&M!

Let me ask.

what happens if you install the camera and someone breaks in and steals it? Where's the hard drive?

I've had nice sports cars and everyone in this forum has had(and stil have) nice sports cars and have had all kinds of things happen to them. I think that setting up a camera system to protect Kaylee is a good idea, BUT...that leads to thinking that you are going to CONSTANTLY be worried about someone doing some type of malicious damage to her.

You have to ask yourself if that is how you want to live your life? If setting up this camera system will make you sleep better, great! But IMVHO I think its like a magnet, it's like your asking for it to happen again , you know...the law of attraction, make sense? I think you would be better off to just keep it parked in a "safe" location. I know that in my years of having a nice sports car, I've never had anyone key my car, but's that my experience, because I didn't dwell on the notion of someone doing damage to it. Life happens and you deal with it the best you can. You will get through this and it will help to shape your character, you're smart and savvy. I'm routing for ya, kid
Good point... but there's also the fact that these guys need to be caught if they come back. Once they are the worry factor decreases greatly...

True, but, all cameras need a little light. If it's pitch black, nothing would work.

Example Video
That's pretty sweet. The pitch black factor is being addressed thoguh. Working with the land lord/owner to install a flood light.

I completely agree. I can't and won't live in fear of something happening to Kaylee - I'd never enjoy her if I did that. But psychologically, a strong stimulus invokes a strong response. It's not that I'm gun ho about preventing this from happening (I mean I am but that's not the point of the camera system). The camera system is really a passive security system. It doesn't stop something from happening, it just lets you catch the person that did it.

Just got an email from the officer on my case. Apparently the video is too dark for them to make anyone, he can hear the damage occurring - but that's a wire tap so can't use it. he remembers that I said I was able to make out a white male in the video - this was through playing with the settings on the tv.

I know a few people have messages me volunteering to take a look at the video and possibly touch it up. First I want to say thank you much for offering to help. I really appreciate y'alls help.

So I don't want to sound ungrateful, because that's not it at all. I just want to have good news when I respond to the officers email. I don't want anyone to think I'm pressuring/rushing them, just curious to know if anyone is having any luck with the video.

yep. But on the upside the owner of the house I'm renting agreed to install a motion activated flood light. I'll take a win when I can get it.

I had my car vandalized 3 days after I installed a giant light over the garage. It was one of about 20 in the neighborhood that had it happen... young kids being stupid... Light wont scare them... but it allows you to see them... which allows you to solve the problem.

exactly. I know that the light won't stop them if they are determined, but I figure most vandals are cowards and will run if they know that they're being watched.............
