Umm... The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses, and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.

But I understand your meaning... their tracking sucks too!

They don't offer tracking, only "delivery conformation" - which to point out has gotten me more than my fair share of angry emails from buyers telling me the tracking number doesn't work.

I agree! I'm just saying that they aren't government subsidized.

The do have "Track and Confirm." But, I agree, it sucks. It has NEVER worked for me.

So last night I *think* I broke my passenger side dash trim. The clear plastic part on the back of it started to come off. I have some plastic epoxy so I think I may hit it with some of that.

Tag, did you do the sanding method for your dash ABL? If so, can you post the link to the write up you used? I'm currently using the weather striping method and I'm finding it to be rather difficult. That and I can't remember for the life of me how I got it to work in the first place.

I have a pretty big to do list for this weekend too. At the top of it is removing my OEM side skirts. The guy is coming on Saturday and we're swapping my OEM side skirts for his GFX side skirts. With some money on my end of course.

Then I need to get my halos working. Ofer thinks that the OEM halo wire might be touching something and grounding the circuit. I am going to test it by unplugging the OEM headlight connector, thereby not powering the OEM halo wire. Then if the halos turn on I know that's my problem. If they don't turn - shit.

Its only held on by 3M double sided tape, And its cold where you are so the tape will release.

That makes sense. I got a bit worried last night when it started to come off.

I'm very interested to see how your dash ABL comes out. I've wanted to do this since I got my car, but I don't want to mess it up.

I shot Ofer a PM with some questions on what his set up is because I honestly don't remember how I installed it exactly. That and I need to figure out why one of my LEDs died. I'm hoping to work on it later this afternoon/night.

I completely took apart my dash piece...fishing line through 3M tape and cleaned it all out. I bought new 3M tape and applied it putting the backing back on. If you BREAK one of the back tabs or break the back trim, then you'll need a new piece. It won't ever sit in the dash right again.

Weather stripping FTW. I'll look for the link. But, to save time, just call me...

If you can get all the parts, we'll do it at the fest, NP. No sanding, just weather stripping.

Gotchya. Hmm I've wondered if maybe putting a spacer in between the clips and the trim. I dunno, I just have this feeling that I might have done the weather stripping wrong

Have you seen this stuff called "EL wire?"

Post 86 and 88

Would that work for the ABL on the dash?

One problem with EL wire is dealing with noise from the inverters. Some can't hear it, but, for those that can, it's really irritating.

I tried El Wire and didn't like it at all.

and EL wire burns out eventually.

Did the side skirt swap today Here's some pics of Kaylee without her skirts on

picture of the new side skirts

I will point out though, taking off the side skirts was both easy and a PIA. They're held on with a ton of the little retainer clips, which take a surprisingly large amount of effort to get to pop out. Thought I was going to break the side skirt a few times. Once I figured it out though it only took 10 minutes per side.

Now reinstalling the side skirts, that's showing to be a bit more difficult. It's impossible to get all the damn clips to line out.

Weather report: balls cold

But I got the GFX side skirts installed. Though it's kind of a funny picture, the clean GFX side skirts and a dirty Kaylee.

Now here's the issue, there is a small gap between the door and the body. I don't know if this is all in my head or if I didn't install the side skirts correctly and now there's a gap. The silver thing is a T15 bit - needed a scaler.

Driver side

Passenger side - I think this side has the bigger gap. Probably should figure this out soon, don't want water getting inside the cabin.

I really like those skirts. If I were to do GFX thats what I'd have.

Could you take a pic from directly above. Curious to see if your door and body line up perfect.

Hmm I think I may have Messed up the GFX install. Do you know if you get new retainer clips with the GFX kit? I'm thinking that maybe you're not supposed to reuse the clips.
