It is next to impossible to fix a tire bead. Some of the OE Chrysler wheels have the same issue. A temporary fix is to wire brush the bad spots on the bead area then polish them as smooth as possible. The rim will hold air, until the corrosion creates another tiny break in the bead.

that's what you get when you make wheels out of poop.

Poop ends up on everything

One shop tried grinding and polishing a bit and it helped a little. But did get worse so you are right.

The shop guys I talked to a few weeks ago said they are amazed that these wheels are so 'New'.

I just still can't believe the bad quality in this whole thing.

Hello stieger
Great build, I learn something new every time I stop by for a visit.

I am in the process of re-reading your build because I’ve forgotten most of it after reading Darth_Emma’s entire novel, I mean build thread (Darth_Emma its one of, if not the best thread out here imo).

Anyway stiger kudos on all the DIY projects, very cool. I wanted to mention that many of your images are beginning to go missing. post #18, 26, 29…, hopefully you have the images stored somewhere and the thread can be edited to point at a more permanent location for the images. Keep up the great work and this great journal.

Slow

Thank you for the heads up Slow, and the compliments. Much appreciated. I think I know what the problem is. Before I figured out photobucket I would upload pics via tapatalk. The tapatalk server might be limiting how many photos I upload. I will look into it.

anyway I'll be making an announcement later today. Don't hold your breath though - seriously I'm not going to say anything for a couple hours. You'd die if you held your breath that long.
