GM doesn't make money by letting people order bits and pieces.

Not likely. The Cobalt, and Impala's have GFX packages from GM, and you can only order them in a kit. Annoying to us, but better for the company.

I will order the Ground Effects with my car, but since i am waiting for a convertible, i won't be ordering for at least another year...

So is it worth it to order the Ground Effect Package?

I don't think it will look too hot with only the rear piece as the sides flare out and may look akward without the corresponding side ground effects to ballance it out. Now just the chin spoiler is a winner... maybe balanced out by the dovetail spoiler or an after marker '69 inspired spoiler.

If I had unlimited funds I would. But to me they aren't worth the excessive amount of money they are charging for them.

But they make more money off forcing people to buy the entire kit than they lose by having a couple people say "if I can't have this piece I don't want it".

That isn't a comparable example. McDonalds is setup so that items are all made individually in a flexible environment. On an assembly line, however, it would be not be cost effective to let people choose exactly how they want their car built...unlike a value meal.

If you buy an SS, you don't get to have it your way. You're getting a 1SS or 2SS...if you want ABL you have to get a 2SS. If you want leather seats you have to get a 2SS. It's easier for the line workers, the automated process, and it forces people to pay more because, more people will choose to go up rather than down.

I would think about it, if they had the body matching color. My Grand Prix had a "body kit" that I loved, and wasn't rice. The two tone look doesn't do it for me...

I ordered it, and I love it.

But seriously though, there will be DOZENS if not hundreds of aftermarket fascias within 2 or so years. There are a load of them already for the HHR and Mustang just for a case in point.

Argent Black Matte from the factory. It might actually look real good against the Orange.

I think they are metallic gray according to the GMPP catalog.

92207441 Ground Effects Kit, LS/LT Models, Metallic Grey
(not shown)
92208008 Ground Effects Kit, SS Models, Metallic Grey

I think the Orange/black combo would look pretty good, maybe with some black stripes as well. It will certainly stand out. Also, you could just get them painted.

Easy as pie, as long as you can find a reputable body shop!

True and that is how it is in the business world.

I wanted that rear diffuser badly but it would look bad just with that one piece and didn't want the whole kit cuz the pot holes and areas I have to drive through would one day nail a ground effects kit. Had I lived in California or Florida, I probably would have gotten the kit.

I want the GFX. But will wait since they're not factory installed anyway. I want body color so will wait and see. Same with the Heritage Grille, I love it, but will get it later since it's not factory installed (and we don't know if it's the color of the GFX or body color) and I want it body color.

Dark Gray with the Orange won't look bad at all probably. But I want mine all Silver.
