I hate the sun! Time to put the top up.

Well it finally happened, I got my usual sun rash. I have felt it coming on the last couple of days from driving my car everywhere with the top down. I only get this rash on my hands and arms. I also hate the sun because I get super dark if I'm out in it a lot, it's particularly annoying when I go swimming and have a bad farmer's tan.
Since my car will be down for a few days next week (going to the track Saturday so I can finally get my baseline 1/4 mile time), I think I'll go a head and get the windows tinted since i remember you can't roll down the windows for a while when you get tint done.

I know what you are thinking, if you hate the sun so much why did you get a convertible? I had one in high school and there is nothing like rolling with the top down when the sun starts to go down and at night. I love it!

On a side note, rolling with the top up and windows down kind of reminds me of that big windowed Mercedes .

I think it's actually self inflicted. On our honey moon five years ago we went to Cancun and I got back super dark, so for the next year or so I got really self conscious about it and avoided the sun like the plague. I guess that threw off my resistance to the sun or something and now when im out on the sun all day I get a rash, its not a big deal, is not all over my arms or anything just on in a few spots. You probably wouldn't even notice it empress I told you I had it.

My wife makes fun of me cause I always carry around SPF 100 (it helps a bit) and use it religiously.

My husband started getting that sun rash a few years ago. I think some people develop it with age. I don't feel too sorry for ya. It snowed here last night!

The sun is brutal , been dealing with the same thing for 34 years. Be careful don't want it to develope into skin cancer. Just a suggestion, put on a hat and long sleeves, crank up the AC and enjoy.

I ask because when I hear this, my mind automatically jumps to medications that can cause a rash when exposed to the sun for a long time. I'm a pharmacist and I've talked with a few people in that same situation. I remember one guy kept having these issues with going out on the boat and he was asking about what to do, and I realized it was one of his diabetes meds that was causing that.

My wife has already put together a "survival Kit" in the glove box;

Sunscreen
Chapstick
Scarf (for her hair)
Sophia Lauren big sunglasses
Hair brush

BTW;
One good cure for the farmer's tan; drive naked...

Got the Vert out for a few hours today. Yep got the sunburn to prove it.
Temps in the low 60s, mostly sunny and I didn't feel it through the permagrin until after I got home.
Guess I need to remember that sunscreen from here on out.
Gonna be a great summer.

Got a solution! I just started carrying a long sleeve button up shirt in the back seat. When ever the sun is out, the shirt goes on! It has been working GREAT for the last few days. I get to enjoy the top down during the toughest sun and not get my sun rash.

I'm driving to Tucson this weekend which is 2 hours away. I plan on having the top down, but we'll see how long before I want to put it up.

I drove around town for almost 2 hours yesterday. I definitely need chapstick on me. I kept licking my lips.

A cowboy rides into town on his horse and stops at a saloon for a drink. He ties up the horse, lifts up its tail, and kisses it on the butt before he goes in.

The sheriff sees this and walks over to inquire about it. The cowboy replies that it's an old Indian trick.

Intrigued, the sheriff asks, "What trick is that?"

The cowboy replies, "Well, you know when you're riding all day in the hot sun and your lips get chapped?"

The sheriff says, "Yeah, does that keep them from chapping?"

The cowboy replies, "Nope, but it does keep you from licking 'em."
