Okay it is on! Car wash took longer than expected. Ruby was REALLY dirty. But we got it done. I took a little ride & it is nice! There is a bit of a whistle sound though with acceleration sometimes. Is that normal? Anyway here are some pics. Unfortunately, after the first couple of pics I took, something got on my lens & the rest are blurry. I tried to clean them up but it did not help. I'll post anyway & get better ones tomorrow.

Very nice. I installed my CAI yesterday. No pics but it looks like yours except the 6.2 version.

Not complicated, but a little difficult to get things fitted just right. Just took some fiddling with.

It took me about a half an hour or so. The hardest part was getting the shrink wrap shrunk around the tubing going into the intake. I don't have a heat gun so I had to use my wife's hairdryer. Not hard just time consuming.

Looking nice! The whistling is pretty normal. Just the sound it makes when lots of air is being pulled through the filter.

Okay so it was dark when I got home today but under the carport lights, I tried to take some pics anyway. They are a little better but not really sharp due to low light. But here they are. I got to drive Ruby more today & the Borla exhaust & CAI intake together are sweet!........ And my permagrin is bigger!

After I installed mine, I noticed the whistle too. First I thought that it might be a leak so I double checked everything and it was fine. Eventually, I called out to CAI Inc and asked. The person I spoke with said that the sound comes from the air moving through the throttle body. I surmise that this is what the resonator appendage on the stock intake was there to silence. So, now when I hear the whistle, I know that I've got my foot into it a bit. I actually like it this way.

Looks nice, do you feel any difference since adding it other than the whistle sound?
Thanks,

I have a Spectre C.A.I. and it whistles as well. Much as the other posters have noted, it kind of gives you an indication that maybe you're into your pedal a little too much. Unless of course, you enjoy that sort of thing. With all of my mods so far, I've gained an increase of around 2.5mpg. I love driving my car! Enjoy yours!

Thanks,
Yes. I can tell It has more get-up-and-go! It also sounds even deeper & a bit louder. I am really glad there ended up being some time between install of my Borla exhaust & the CAI intake because it gave me the opportunity to feel & hear the difference each one made. I am very happy with both choices. BTW the sound is not one bit ricey, on the contrary, it is very deep and bad a$$ sounding IMHO. Thanks to a lot of help from my C5 friends even a very green newby was able to sort through all the information & make a good decision. Now time for the oil catch can.
