Howdy Neighbor

Ginger looks great. I've been lurking on the forums for awhile when I came across your thread. I noticed something strangly familar when i saw your photos taken when you picked it up.

I was planning on waiting for the ZL1. My wife told me I should at least test drive a Camaro if I was going to spend the next year waiting anxiously. We ended up at Reliable 2 weeks ago and rolled out in a 2011 SS/RS Summit White coupe with the black stripes. My car was parked where yours was a couple of weeks after yours.

Keep it up! Looks awesome.

Great bunch of guys up there! My sales man Brian Prosser hooked me up with a discount on the vert when no one else was getting any at all!

Out of curiosity, have you had any issues scraping the splash guards since you lowered the car? I have them as well and they're the only thing causing reservations about lowering it. Sad that $140 worth of molded plastic could sway my decision.

love your car btw. IOM was my first choice, but couldn't find the trim level i wanted when i bought.

The only time it has been a problem was when I would back it into the garage, I kept backing up until my rear tire hit my engine hoist's leg. It was the perfect spot to stop, with the back bumper just inches away from the wall. Well after lowering I backed it up just like I always do and the rear splash guard was low enough to get caught on the leg. I didn't notice it until I pulled out and the engine hoist followed me a little. I moved the hoist and now use some 2x4s as stops.

The front splash guards are the ones that are pretty low, but they have not ever hit on anything and I doubt they ever will. The connecting pipes to my headers hang about 1/4" lower than the splash guards and I have only hit those once when I didn't see a parking lot speed bump and went over it too fast. It just barely tapped them, because it didn't even leave a mark or scratch them.

I'll go snap a pic of how low they hang.

Clearance after lowering. This is with your standard 3.5" wide 2x4.

Car looks great! I know we met years ago back when you were racing your '98 SS.

What do you think of those headers from a quality standpoint?

Well, these headers were very close to the steering shaft and passenger side K memeber. I was aware of that ahead of time and that's why there was such an insane deal on the set up, they are redesigning them for a better fit. Other than that, the quality is outstanding. I've been a TIG welder for over 12 years and these are some really nice welds. The mandrel bends are nice and round (not like the OBX headers) and the header flanges were true and very thick. Best bang for the buck mod I have done so far.

I didn't have the car for even two weeks before I did all the suspension, so I didn't get too used to it. But it feels AWESOME now. Not too much of a bumpy or stiff ride and it handles like it's on rails! I feel so much more connected to the road and the car feels so much more solid. Honestly it feels much like driving a Z06.

congrats on COTW! Car is looking good. I think its a good ideal going to maybe a 18 or 19" wheel. I have 20" lexani LX-15's on mine which I think Im going to use for only car shows when I get other wheels. Best of luck with Ginger!
