Are they really American?
Is Acura really american? Or is it like Nissan and Infinity? is Infinity really American? What about Scion? is it American also?
You tell me.... I have a slight feeling that Infinity is American..but then if you look at the Skyline 350GT 4dr and 2dr they look like the G35 2&4 dr..... Same thing goes for the Infinity QX45...It looks like the Armada...and the older QX45 looks like the Pathfinder of 2004.....:( Therefore I dont know...but it puzzles me. |

Scion's a Toyota subsidiary, and Infiniti is Nissan's luxury branch...I know Acura's not American...but I don't know who owns them.....

Of course, GM is owned by America and built in (U.S.+Canada+???) and stock holders from Anywhere, so it is hard to say.... Everything is global, with roots somewhere.

Any Americans own Honda stock? Then a bit of those profits go to them. It is all global. To talk about a national origin, you have to be specific. Foreign ownership? Mostly, but not wholly. American market? Mostly. You get the idea.

Try the same thing with this pair's predecessors of 1970 or so and you'll find yourself in a bit of a wrestling match. Ain't progress wonderful? Maybe yes, and maybe sometimes it's fun to wrestle."

Honda needs to gb2building bikes. Seriously. My Magna is probably the most I've been impressed with Hondurr engineering. Bike is batshiiiiiiiii- crazy.
It's gonna be funny having my Camaro and Maggie Mae (the magna) parked next to each other.

The Japanese "luxury" brands pretty much represent the hypocritical nature of Americans.
Rebadging a nissan armada as the infiniti QX56 is perfectly fine, but rebadging the Silverado as the Sierra is a horrible idea.

Hey, if the GMC fanboys want it, they can have it. It's more money in the bank for GM. But if they added a few more options, even beefed up the GMC more than the Silverado..
I'd hit it..

You can't refer to them as ricers and then call them American.
I was born in Germany 38 yrs ago, but I'm not German. My roots are American and so I am. I am also Irish and Native American. When asked what Nationality I am, I say Irish. Mainly because I don't look indian at all. My brother on the other hand took all of our fathers characteristics. When he's asked, he says Sioux Indian. The point being, You can still tell a distinct difference bewtween the foreign and domestic autos. And they still have a base origine or roots. You're usually refered to as is your outward appearance and common knowledge. |

Mazda was owned by Ford, but the only thing Ford did was make trucks with Ford motors in them. They were still engineered by a Japanese company.
Acura is a Honda brand. Have you ever noticed the old Integras riding around with flipped over Acura emblems. It's supposed to symbolize that the brand is really a Honda marque. I swear that Infiniti is a brand that wants to look like Porsche with with more Japanese influence. It is the luxury branch of Nissan and therefore an import. Scion and Lexus are both owned by Toyota. Like all of the other names listed, their money goes back to Japan for R&D, investment, and JDM taxes. The moral of the story is that something may say "Made in America" on it, but the lettering is Japanese, and the money isn't dollars. Somewhere inside every import building, they have imported leadership who bears pride in their own flag, speaks English as a second language, and either secretly or publicly wishes they were "home." If home for them isn't America, then they aren't American, and the same is true of the brands that have come from overseas.

IMO, if you hire an American work force, and buy American products, and use American supply chains... you're helping us more than most American held companies are...
No comment as to what that says for your relative level of Americanism. |
