headers, do they screw up warranty? emissions testing?

my dealer said that CAI and cat backs wont affect warranty, he said"you arnt going to put headers and a cam in are you?" i can understand not putting a cam in but headers should not affect warranty imo.

i guess cat backs and CAI dont affect emissions, right?

headers, even with cats will probably affect emissions...right?

thanks

Some Dealers are OK with headers..some are not. Some dealers also hate CAI's as some that use oil can damage the MAF sensor if oiled improperly. Just get a hold of a local camaro club and find out which dealers in your area are "MOD" friendly.

You should be OK with Headers and Cats as long as there is no CEL light...but it varies from state to state in how much emissions are allowed...

This is true, however, in some states any modification of the exhaust from the cats forward is an automatic no go. Getting a tune, which is highly recommended if you want to maximize your gains and not get a CEL with your headers, will void the drive train warranty.

thanks, yes that would be long tube, but the cat back and cai will come first. i am thinking in about a year, screw the warranty. Dont feel like waiting 5 years to mod.

ya i waited about a year before i voided the warranty. honestly if i had to wait 5 years to put headers and a cam in i wouldn't even do it. the camaro is cool right now, who knows what will happen in 5 years with cars.
