800 RWHP STOCK LONG BLOCK LS3

Bigdogs 2010 Camaro revisits the dyno on Race Gas.

I always said Octane is the limiter.

Mod list
Vortech YSI supercharger kit with JRE Upgrade Pack
Untouched LS3 Long block sans the Cam and valvetrain
JRE Rough Idle Blower Cam
ADM Fuel system
Injector Dynamics ID-1000s
Klotz racing fuel 100
ARH 2 inch Headers, off road pipes
Stock Mid pipes with muffler delete
ZR1 Clutch
DSS 9 inch conversion with 4.57s
Bogart Wheels and Hoosier tires
JRE Custom Dyno Tune

Results 800.2 RWHP 635 RWTQ with 14.5 psi boost 17 degrees timing 11.5 AFR.

The belt started to slip right at 6550 RPM so God only knows how much more it would have made.

Next Up a Vortech Cog drive, then a TCI TH400 with a Trans Brake.

That is really cool Ted. Keep pushin' the envelope. You never which motor will stay together or come apart and it's good to see someone willing to find out.

Only 14 pounds of boost? I think you and the Bigdog need to cop a feel and check to see what, if anything, is still hanging!!! 14 psi was cool last year but for 2011 you clowns better bring more than that!

Oh BTW, I need to set something up to finish my car please. I'll shoot you an email in the am.

I wouldn't want to be anywhere near that thing when it's cranking 6000+ RPM at that power level. It's like a grenade.

17 degrees of timing seems like a lot for a FI engine. On pump gas (93 octane), mine began knock retarding at 15 degrees, so we backed it off to 12 where it peaked at 641 rwhp/554 rwt

I cant wait to see what it does at the track , should be good with a th400 w/trans brake and 4.57s = needs big fat slicks.
good job again.

Probably in a few weeks. We still to to install the ECS tensioner and hope the belt stops slipping. So pretty much whenever I can get over to Ted. The biggest problem is that this am they are calling for another 5"-10" of snow for Friday. I hope not to much longer!

Read, Klotz 100 octane Race Gas, and we turn it 7200.

You turn a stock bottom end LS3 putting out 800HP to 7200 RPM? If that engine holds up under those conditions, I wonder if it doesn't come stock with forged internals? My understanding is that only the rods are forged and the top piston ring is not steel (chrome molly), that's why I'm surprised the engine holds up with that much boost.

I love that you push the envelope, you're establishing boundaries for the rest of us!

Some has to have the balls to try it or we will never know for sure.

If it breaks we have a complete Forged 416 CNC ported LS3 ready to drop in.

Life is good ON RACE GAS.
