First good shot I have seen of the RS wheels.
Now if I only had one of the polished to go next to it and end my frustration. To me, the wheel just looks lightly coated with brake dust, and I hate that. It must be the slightly uneven look to the finish.

if we had a pic like this of the polished.. would help me make up my mind as well.
The midnight looks good but i dunno.. looks like they are dirty and that would bug me.

I like it. To me that finish hides brake dust.

I've been searching for various wheel photos too. It would sure be nice to see:
The two 19" Optional LT wheel in polished aluminum and painted silver finish The three 20" wheels - Midnight Silver, Sterling Silver, polished aluminum. Can any of the "photo experts" put those in 1 thread? |

I tried to order my SS/RS with the polished aluminum wheels as I agree the RS wheels always looks dull and dirty. Can't be done. If you want an SS you must not get the RS pkg in order to get the polished 20" wheels. The RS pkg is an additional $1200.00 and the polished wheels are only $470.00 as I remember. Decisions / decisions.

Check out the rims for the LS7. I ordered 20" polished, but if the LS7 rims become an option, I would gladly pay the extra coin.

Hope the polished option for almost $500 isn't just a cheap Polished Plastic cover/cap over the wheel.

A Camaro5 member now tells me the 20" polished wheels are available with the SS/RS Camaro for an additional $470.00. My dealer (who I am no longer using) told me it was not an option with the RS. It sure pays to check this great site every day.

It's true you can order the polished on top of the RS package (or at least thats what our order says)...my question is now I'm paying for two sets of wheels. Is anyone elses order like this (RS $1200, polished $470) or did they take $ off of the RS package because you are being charged for the polished?

It depends when he told you that if he was correct at the time. They weren't originally an option... but they are now.

Although my favorite is the polished wheel, the RS wheel pictured in the first post needs more credit than that pic shows. The smudged look is from all the dirt and grime from having been driven on what looks like snow/salted roads or some other type of dirty road. In other words, those wheels need a good washing! A better pic (and there are plenty of 'em floating around here) would help someone decide is they really liked these wheels vs. another.
Good thread though!

My favorite is still the 18 inch 1LT wheel. I wish that one was available in polished.

I love it. The car is beautiful on its own and doesn't need shiny wheel to distract from that beauty.
I'm not even going to replace the wheels, I'm going to drive the stock Midnight ones. |

me too, and if they won't fit over my brembos, i'm gonna go with C6Z wheels (assuming they're the same bolt pattern)

Here's a good comparison. The wheel at the top of this thread is just plain dirty! I think the "uneven finish" mentioned is what made these wheels look so cool when that Daytona 500 pace car was in motion...
I will note, however, that the Midnight Silver wheels do appear slightly darker in person than they look in this pic. IMO

After seeing them on the configurator, I'm thinking about really dark grey, or black wheels.

They are too dark looking for my liking - on a black car maybe they look cool.
