Molded Splash Guards

Has any one see a picture of the Camaro with molded splash guards? I noticed is is an option... I am not sure the cost. All of the cars I have purchased over the years off of the lot have had splash guards. They have always looked good so I assume they would look good on the Camaro as well. Has anyone requested this on their orders? I don't remember being asked if I wanted them.

I don't think any of us have seen 'em on a Camaro yet, but am confident they will look very nice. They are one of the extras that I do believe I'll add to my SS when they become available.

After my experience with my Prelude, I don't think I could go the route of splash guards again. The ones on the Prelude are molded rubber that follow the contours of the fenders. What nobody tells you is that over time, since these are in direct contact with the paint of the car, any flash left over from the molding process can leave an imprint in the paint, and, in my case, remove it down to the primer as the flash slowly etches its way down. At this point I can never take them off without repainting four fenders.

Just be advised that this could be a potential future problem, and make sure to scope out how they are going to be attached to the Camaro. Depending on how GM has engineered it, it may not be an issue at all, but just giving my $0.02 .

edog has it on his IOM Camaro, search for his posts. And yeah the Molded Splash guards were first called Quarter Flares but everyone now knows they are fancy rock/salt blockers.

I'm getting them on my Black Camaro but can't post pics until I get my car.

Found edog's and another Camaro.

I ordered via GM Parts Direct http://www.gmpartsdirect.com - the list price is $199, their price $144.87 though shipping was steep at ~ #30 - still cheaper than OTC plus local tax. They're on national backorder per an email I got this morning - I assume due to GM restructuring.

Pretty steep for a set of mud flaps. Aftermarket will come out with something as nice or better for a reasonable price.

True - though consider they're color matched - I had them on my previous car color matched and they looked worth the premium.

A matter of choice and budget...

I have them on mine, they look Ok. I like the protection they provide from road debris. They come off easy enough. Picture down at the end.

I ordered them from my dealer and they arrived in less than a week. I'm having them installed next week. I got my dealer to price match the site below, which has them for $144 (they list for $199). They are charging $100 for installation.

I pick mine up tomorrow from Reedman Toll after work tomorrow.
$199 And they will be symonized like the rest of the car.

after 1 day of driving I feel that they will be well worth it in saving onpaint chips on the side of the car and road splatter.

Greenrail!

Awesome, I thought no Black Camaro has had the Quarter flares installed yet! Could you show me a full side car view of your Camaro? Just want to hold that imagine in my head as that's how my Camaro will be looking!

Thanks!
