Was I too mean?

So I need some feedback. Up here is Alaska I don't get the opportunity to drive my Camaro very often. But when I do, I try to enjoy it. The other night I was sitting at a red light on a three lane road. I was in the middle, and to the left was an unmarked police car. He checked the car out and waved. On my right was an Audi. Now he was reving his engine wanting to race....completely oblivious of the cop next to me. I looked over at the cop and gave him the old head nod over in the Audi's direction. Then the light turned green and off went the Audi......and shortly after, off went the cop too. I was laughing so hard. I actually held back a second to give him the opportunity to cross in front of me. So here's the question. Was I wrong?

Funny story. But honestly, I would've tried to warn the Audi guy. I ALWAYS try to warn people about cops/speed traps when I can for two reasons.

1. It slows some speeders down.
2. From time to time, people warn me and save me the cost of a ticket and I hope it continues.

We have an Audi and a Camaro. I've owned Corvettes, Benz, Audi, Infiniti and have nothing against any of them. Do people a favor and one day you'll get one in return.

Oh man, if it was another Camaro I would have warned him. The intersection was pointing right towards the city. Crazy place to race. Even with a completely clean record, my insurance company told me not to get a ticket with the Camaro. It's high here because of the snow.

I think I would have even warned a Mustang. They were young kids driving the Audi, probably mom's car. The antagonizing way they were acting just got me to do it. Hopefully they learned their lesson.

I understand but what if you were the guy in the Audi? I know there is no real gesture to say no I don't want to race theres a cop beside me. So I guess what else could you have done, you didn't rev back.

Well what would you have done if you weren't aware the cop was there? Would you have gone with the Audi?

Audi driver is equally responsible to know there is a police car one over from him before his "demonstration of speed".

Could you have warned him? Sure.

Are you bad for not warning him? Not in my opinion.

I'm in the Air Force up here, and the local cops come to the base to practice their driving. Like pit moves, winter driving. It's hilarious watching them spin off course. Their course was behind our shop. We would all just stand out their and applausd as they spun out or something. Well, one day they got me back. I was in the office and looked out in the parking lot, and there was a cop at my car writing in his notepad. So I went out freaking out and asked what the problem was. He said I was parked illegally. He pointed to the line, and said I was on it, and had to give me a ticket. Good thing was, he couldn't keep a straight face. All I said was point taken.... After watching them, and how hard they work at driving, you really have to respect how hard they work at it.

Well for one, there is always a time and place to race someone. On the street, pointed towards the city is bad. Like I said, it was the way the kids were acting that made me do it. If the cop wasn't there, I honestly wouldn't have raced. It's hard to say what I would have done if I was the guy in the Audi, either way though....he was wrong.

Too funny! Audi guy thought he was smoking you for a split second. I'm pretty sure that's the first time he's had that feeling...

OP thinks he could have warned them (had they been in a Camaro or Mustang) but they were young and antagonized him so he decided not to let them know about the cop. Bad Karma for sure...Gonna knock you off your feet.

The only Karma you should get is good Karma...like maybe a free pass from that same cop one of these days...If the cop saw you warn the guy, then I'd see bad Karma coming from him in the future...you did right.

What if the Audi had lost it and hit a mini van full of nuns carrying babies? Good Karma?
