Taillight Blackout Recommendation? - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

Hey Guys,

I am looking to blackout my taillights but not to a full black extent. In Florida, you must not put any object on the lights that will avoid it from making it visible from 1,000 feet.

Anybody have some recommendations on tints that will fit these requirements?

I heard that these are cool because they stick with static electricity and you can apply them and remove them whenever possible. Do you have any pics of your with the running lights and and with them off, like a normal picture. Would help me more in my decision. Thanks!!

Very nice guy. I just ordered my bowtie blackouts from him yesterday. However, I am looking for a taillight blackout that you are able to see a lot of red without the lights on so I have a less chance of getting pulled over. Dark enough to look good but light enough to see a lot of red.

I went with Bigworm!! No complaints and my car is registered in FL. Been pulled over a couple times with nothing said about the lights and even got off both times with warnings for speeding. Funny thing is I was not even trying to speed and was on my way home from work both times after 18 hour days. Military uniform probably helped!!

I think that may be too dark for me. I'm trying to look for something lighter.

i second headlightarmor.com. looks great and the darkest they sell are legal in florida. They even provide pictures . I love mine!

Which tint do you have from them? And have you been pulled over?

I have decided to go with Big Worm Motorsports on the 6% tint. I think that is enough black for me!

here is a picture of mine . As you can see with a flash on the camera you still get the reflection part of the lense.

Woolfman, nice photos!

Yes in the night testing we did (on the site here) both the running lights and brake lights were visible from 1000 feet.
