Here is a picture of the US from space at night. A western event just can't pull the same kind of participation an eastern or central event will. I get that they want to be fair but it is what it is.

I didn't go last year but there is plenty to look at and see in my opinion. Lots of vendors, lots of displays, gear, cars, parts, accessories. I'm having a blast.

Just pulling in this morning behind a line of all those Camaros was really something.

The venue that is hosting this event has everything and is huge.

Not to mention the beautifull 88 degree weather...

Observations from the fest

There are a few vendors - I was not disappointed with the number.
Got lots of info on superchargers, and bought a Borla cat-back at what I think is a really good price.
Almost popped for a cold air intake - free install at the show - but decided to spend my money on something else.

I had a blast watching the drag qualifiers - at least Firebird raceway lets you get up and close an personal.

Lots of friendly folks... but I have to say, that at 20 bucks a person I can understand why people were wanting more. I may go back tomorrow - without the passenger seat counter weight - just to get my money's worth.

Attaching some pics.

The vendors were a little sparse but the racing events made up for it. You have seen the All Gens cars packed in there behind Loud Pedal. I was worried that I wasn't going to be able to get out for awhile, I got to get some things done tonight before I head out of town.

I'll see if I can remember to grab the shot you need tomorrow. No promises though, I think my brain got fried in the sun today.

Yep, definitely got plenty of sun today too! Nice and red....ouch!

There's a Target just up Price from the host hotel. I picked up a case of water last night and we went through most of it today. Would have been nice if they had opened the concession stand under the bleachers next to the 1/4 mile track. It was open tonight for the Friday Night Drags. No clue why they couldn't have had it open during the day too.

Nope not less, the place was split today. About 80 cars and drivers/spectators were over at the pfadt road course. with that done, everyone will be over in the main area tommorrow. Just think about it.. the fest sold out 3 hotels (by no means small hotels), and almost filled a fourth.

Additionally Firebird is HUGE, I mean seriously, HUGE. The autocross area alone could have handled everything that was at fest 1.

Third, the vendors are EXTREMELY happy with the setup, GM is too.

I know that Firebird is keeping very accurate attendance records. Don't know if they will ever become public, but camaro5 will have the numbers.

For me there was just wayyyyy too much to do in one day. Did the Pfadt track session in the morning and wasn't able to make the GM announcement but the track session was just packed with Camaros and instructors. GM's setup was awesome although they did a little extra room but that was due to turmoil not being able to bring their pace cars and other convertible and stuff which is understandable. Adams and Borla you could be there a whole hour by themselves going through their products and and info, great setups by both vendors. I still hqve soooo much to do and also hot a car show and GM signing. WOW! Definatley not underachieving this event is.
