Ram Air from fog light ports?

Has anyone made a ram air using the blank fog light holes on an LS? I used to remove a headlight on another car for ram air when racing and I thought since these are not used if they could be used for that.

removed a headlight? I mean I don't see why not, just put a mesh screen behind the things and it should do the trick.

I was thinking about doing this, since I have the Injen intake the filter sits right behind the fog light. So I thought about taking the fog light out and having air blow right into the filter. I just haven't gotten around to it yet..

it was a ford focus, I ran a vent hose from a clothes dryer out where the drivers side light was. I ran about 2 tenths faster with it. I haven't gotten under my car yet to see how hard it would be, just wondering if it was already done.

You can do what beauwulf did... he cut two holes on the bottom of the V6 bumper, and made them into air cooling ducts for his front brakes (Rears too? not sure). It's more stealthy. But then again, since you have a LS, I guess you could do that to the fog light bezel... wouldn't look good though...

I just bought the grills vents/ ducts and was wondering something similar... tubing the air from one of the ducts to the engine and/or intake... hmmmmm...

Cool, i like the way you are thinking. however, my personal preference... if you are re-routing air, I would just go intake... and if you are a trackstar, brakes for sure.

If you wish to vent heat from the engine bay itself... it's time to upgrade Hoods =D That's my plan... vented CF hood. There are also benefits in decreasing drag

Great now I have to put the car on the hoist again to see what it would take to pull it off. Plus if done right a guy could pulg it on the rainy days to help keep water out.

Ok guys I did this!! Now before anyone gets too critical I am sure there are better ways to do this, but I did this for $7 out of Lowes so I don't think it is too shabby for that.

First I got a simple PVC 45 degree 3 inch elbow:

Used some L brackets with bolt holes and attatched the pvc behind the fog light in the fender well. I used the supplied bolt holes for the fog lights to attach. I put a fan on in front of the car and the air is pushing hard enough through that I can feel it coming out the vents in the top of the injen short ram box. I don't know exactly yet how much it is going to help, but it definately can't hurt. I don't know if I would recomend taking out fog lights for this LOL but I didn't have them to begin with so... Here are the other pics from different angles after install.

Well I tested it out and it really did make a difference. Now I am not saying I had an increase in HP. What I am saying is that at 94 degrees and the air on my car drove like it was 75 degrees out. I know this is not cooling the air it is just really getting better air to my intake faster and the car DOES like it. The air goes right up the wheel well past the washer fluid container. I am putting some finishing touches on the exterior some black mesh to help the appearance and I will post a pic tomorrow of it finished.

How did you get the fog light bezel out? Does it just un-clip from the back?

It is VERY easy. Take a flat head screwdriver and cover the head with a hand towel. Just work it around the edge and pry it out. It came out very easy but make sure you don't forget the towel or you may scratch it up.
