I will taking off that day to check all this out, i have bought the several vehicles i owned from Hendrick, but i changed with this car, just because his dealerships have been known to do jack up the prices 10,000 or more on vehicles with this much hype.

Ok, here's the latest information today from Paul Ensslin at the dealership.

1. They are trying to get Mr. Hendrick to stop by for a couple of hours since there's a race in Richmond as someone else already stated. ( I will add that we were told he was going to be at the ZR1 unveiling too and he didn't make it. Please don't schedule this trip around his attendance. )

2. Everyone who is planning to attend needs to contact Paul at one of the means below. He's wanting to make sure that everyone gets a spot and he makes adequate arrangements.

Something I was just thinking about. ANYONE planning on attending might want to shoot Paul an email so he can get some idea of expected attendance.

Ok everyone, thought it was about time for a thread bump now that some of the hoopla from last week has kinda died down. Congrats to everyone as you hear about your cars. I know how frustrating the wait can be, but you get an inner calm by hearing that you have a VIN......right Trent?!?

I attended a Corvette tech session yesterday afternoon at the Cary Auto Mall Hendrick dealership and learned some interesting news from Lou Long.

Lou heads up a lot of their performance vehicle activities and transferred up from City Chevrolet in Charlotte. Anyway, I asked him if they were planning anything for a Camaro unveiling and he immediately said, "Yes, May 6th." He asked if I attended their ZR1 unveiling (which I did) and went on to say it would be just like that. If it is, and there's half the turnout, you should plan to come out if you are close. This event will be in the evening. I believe the ZR1 event started around 5-6 and went until. They had giveaways, no hassle Corvette test drives of LS3, Z06, Callaways and huge discounts on accessories and wearables. I've asked Lou to email me the details and as soon as I get them, I'll post them up.

Yep, CamaroScotty has that in his thread I believe. Thanks for adding it here. I thought it was in my original post, but I have it on the Bowtie thread.

Ah, just checked that Bowtie site and it's not working... ?

In any case, there was the question over whether Rick Hendrick has VIN #00002, also. Well, I'm helping to run the event and I can only pass on what we have been told. Our general manager went with Rick to Canada to pick up his Camaro(s). There's a photo slide show on the show website that has photos of both cars as well as VIN numbers for both cars (they're blurry, but readable...)

I was skeptical at first because all I read was that Rick won the first one in the auction. I never read anything about the second one. But... yes, he's got both.

Bump time.......

All you members that are coming out need to make sure you announce your self at the Southern Summit '09 area. Gonna have some cool things for you.

Just look for a banner that will have Southern Summit '09 on it.

Ok, this weeks public unveiling of Rick Hendricks' VINs #0001 and 0002 is upon us. Saturday, May 2nd at the Hendrick Durham Auto Mall.

Who's planning on attending? I'd like to also get a group shot of all the members with VIN #0001 between noon and 1. As soon as you get there, come by the table and let me know you're there.

I'll be there with a table set up with a CAMARO5 t-shirt on with some goodies for the forum members. I've also worked some in with Paul at the dealership for them to do giveaways with.

I'm looking forward to meeting all of you.

I'll also have one of Jason Debler's Smoothlocks on hand for you to check out as well.

It is a bit of a drive from my place but I may go and snap a few pictures. I highly doubt that I will be able to test drive anything right now so I will wait on that until later in the year.

My fingers are crossed that some of his 4th gens will be there and that someone takes good pictures of them.
