Leather Conditioner or Super VRT on your dash?
When detailing your interior (plastic pieces) what do you use to protect it as well as make it look it's best?

Leather cleaner, then leather conditioner. It's got good UV protection and is less glossy than VRT so it won't glare.

I have scrubbed with leather cleaner from Adams, then applied their conditioner but I keep getting white streaks. I get the same with just VRT as well. I don't know what I'm doing wrong, but I've gone back to soapy water to clean it.
Note: I use the cleaner/conditioner combo on my truck and wife's car with no streaking. Just the Camaro for some reason.

Did you wipe the cleaner off with water after you applied it? Read the bottle, you apply the cleaner, then wipe with a damp clean towel, then apply your conditioner. I'm guessing you still have cleaner there.

Nope, sure didn't. I just watched the videos on this one. I will try this. Thanks!

I used to only wipe the dash with water and an mft.
I applied one application of super vrt and wiped that down with a damp mft. It looks great, a little bit of a sheen, but the blackness is unreal, I did everything inside after that. |

Personal preference, but some things to consider:
You don't want shine on your dash as it can lead to glare so LIC makes more sense LIC has SPF 65 UV protection vs. 35 on SVRT so it offers better protection LIC is designed for interior use and is less likely to cause fogging on glass after high heat exposure. Again, personal preference, but I much prefer Leather & Interior Conditioner to SVRT on my dash and door panels. |

Also thanks everyone for the input, I was leaning towards LC but wasn't sure since VRT is meant for black surfaces.

VRT isn't just for black surfaces... its for anything rubber, plastic, or vinyl... color doesn't matter at all. Just so happens that 99% of the exterior trim on a vehicle is black, but that doesn't mean VRT won't work on other colors.

i have always used plain old windex on the inside plastic, doors and dash.i have never had a problem after 50 years of using it.keeps the inside looking natural.you get no build up and keeps the new car smell.that's what i use and i'm stickin to it.

Yikes!
Windex = Isopropanal (alcohol), Butoxethanol, Ethylene, Water, and Ammonia Its not even safe for window tint film, it'd be one the last things I'd use on my interior. |
