2LS started as a late 2011 model. 2012 is not yet available and will have a new V6 (LFX).

2LS is the LS with an automatic that included rear axle gears for higher mpg rating.

Chevrolet split the LS trim level in to 2.

1LS is manual trans:

2LS is auto trans:

Ok I have no idea here so if MSRP is say $34,420 then what does that mean? Is that the lowest you can get it for before tax and tags? Basically is there any way in hell I could get the 2012 2SS off the lot for that price?

That's just the price suggested by the manufacturer for the car to be sold at. If you go to a dealer that offers GM Preferred Pricing you could get if for about 2K less, not sure about the 2012 though. I went to the dealer about a week ago to ask about the Preferred Pricing and the MSRP was 37,755, the Pricing brought it down to about 35,500. I'm still waiting for the 2011.
