So, is production still going to happen?

Now that GM has burned all the way through the $9 billion they got, is production still going to happen? I wanted to buy a new one after the 2nd model year comes out and they have worked all of the bugs out of it, but i don't know if there will be a 2nd year.

I sure hope soo, i know soo. Dont worry, plus the only bugs will be HUD, Complete ABL maybe, and 3.73 gears, and those arnt even bugs, i dont think the Camaro will have any bugs but missing options like the ones i just wrote. Oh yeah, and different colours such as green, maybe Jetstream Blue, a different orange, who knows, but i asm going to go with no bugs and production

well not exactly. im sure its been discussed but new Hemis aren't really hemis anyway, and the LS engines use a non-Hemisperical active combustion chamber.

5.3 billion of that was cash. Discouraging to say the least.

I have thought about this a number of times. I can't imagine the government not funding GM for a while more. The government may require a structured prepackage bankruptcy. In my mind... chances are pretty high that the Camaro will be built. But... who knows... if in a couple of years if car sales don't pickup... anything could happen. By then we will all be driving our cars.

I'm fully aware of what a hemispherical combustion chamber is and looks like.

what I was getting at is that "HEMI" today is nothing more than a brand name. Chrysler/Dodge has modeled their modern "Hemi" heads of those of the LS series as they have proved better.

That's why I laugh every time I see those ads
"Has that thing got a Hemi?" .... "Yea... it's got a Hemi...huhuhuhuh"

No It Doesn't! None of the so called hemi's since the re-introduction of the name are actually hemi's. Just branding... trying to pick-up from the glory days. Just stupid... And yes, the LS series combustion chamber is better.

First year will happen, but subsequent years may not if any. Let's hope we all get back on track and out of this mess.

There's no doubt production will happen since the official start is only about 2 weeks away. However, I think we'd better get one while we can. GM is going through money at the rate of nearly $100 million per day, and the economy is going to get worse before it gets better. Bankruptcy is a very real possibility, and probably the only way to control the bleeding. Given the size of the budget deficit, it's not likely that the Obama administration will continue to pour money into GM and Chrysler, even at the risk of alienating the unions. Never in my lifetime did I think this could happen.
