I've been doing some research on here for was/polish brands. I love my Meguiar's but I'm about to place an order for Blackfire products.

OK, so I just ordered a turbo kit from HPS in Georgia. I am now in need of a company to do ceramic coating on the headers and what not. Also going to need a tuner after the install. Any suggestions for getting this done on island? Heading to Sonic motorsports on Saturday to get base line HP numbers on my car, should be interesting.

Are you ordering from the mainland or picking it up locally?
I know a place that sells it locally, and they have some other great products as well.

HITECH Coating in Cambell Industrial Park does powder and ceramic coating. Reasonable prices. Had my license bracket powder coated there.

Only local shop I know does camaros and tunes is BSM performance(Bodie) in Kalihi. Nakas installs, but relies on outside tuning(mainland) for GM. Bought my parts from mainland and came with remote dyno tuning. Needed to coordinate with Bodie.

Check out Taz's current setup at a cruise night. Bodie did his whole maggie setup with dual pumps.

OVRKLL, by all means please tell me where I can get Blackfire products locally. I was going to order online but not if I can get here. Either tell me on here or shoot me a pm.

No problem...check out Pak Shak on Sand Island Rd. 2224 Alahao Pl. Unit 201. Ph. 783-6006.
It's the first right when you turn onto Sand Island Rd. and the second driveway on the right, it is a small whse on the right 2nd or 3rd roll up door...yes you're right, it's all rights...LOL!
Ask for Ron, he can help you with what you need.
Pak Shak also has a local forum you can check out.
Pak Shak

If anyone wants some good wheel cleaner to remove stubborn brake dust, pick up a bottle of Iron X...this is Great Stuff! I just did a small write up on the forum for some wheels I did...check out the link above.

I just found out about this place myself, but they have been there for a couple of years now. They carry a lot of premium polishes, waxes, sealants, coatings etc. etc. etc.
If you don't like to wax your car, ask Ron about Opti-Coat 2.0...just keep in mind this is a permanent sealer and will last for years. It's like adding another clear coat on your paint.
When...and that's a big WHEN, I get a ZL1, I'll be applying this Opti-Coat 2.0.

When you see Ron, tell him Woody sent ya! You may or may not get a discount...hopefully he doesn't charge you more...LOL!!

@ partymn - I can also vouch for HI-TECH Coating, I had some headers ceramic coated on a BMW years ago, and the guy did an excellent job.

Thanks for the info, I will give Bodie a call when I receive the set up and see what he can do for me. Unfortunately this kit is still in the production phase, so to speak, so there will not be a canned tune for a while. Truth be told, I would rather have it dyno tuned anyway to avoid any issues with other mods.

I drive H3 everyday I work. I can tell you there are about 5-6 place on that highway they sit waiting to nail people speeding. This is going either direction. Good luck in court.

Around 7ish. Dude pretty much stopped after I took off. Found out later on that he works at the same place I do, small world. Maybe I should pay more attention to the cars in the parking lot, and cops too I guess.

LOL, the wife has grounded me from doing my Turbo install untill after I go to court.

Yeah...if you were going over 80mph (who doesn't) it is my understanding they (DMV) can confiscate your car.
Supposedly any time you're going 20mph over the speed limit you can get your car confiscated...since 60mph is the highest we have, 80 mph would be the point of confiscation.

However, I assume this didn't happen...got to watch out for the coppers, cuz they are watching out for you.

Gears

Has anyone changed out their rear end gears and if so, what size gears did you install? If I remember correctly, someone did change out thier gears and were running a manual tranny. Was wondering how much different the ride was with the gear change. I've also noticed smaller oem gears for the auto tranny. Thinking probably that was done due to the auto tranny having weaker gearing, but could be wrong.

Thanks,
Taz

Dave(turboV6) did Richmond 3.73. Modern autos typically use taller rear end gear for mileage and rely on shorter trans 1st gear and torque converter to it make up.

Hell, if you do you a FI 427/440 or whatever, you'll never launch with shorter gears unless you use slicks. Go centri and get a high power band... With my 315s, I can light it up so easily, it's a joke.

We're around the same HP/tor, but your 2.3 Maggie power band should be much lower than my 2.8 KB and just kick a$$ above idle. Especially with your stall.

So anything new? Still planning?

Hey everyone. I just moved to oahu in late January. I'm currently out on deployment. But will be back soon. Didn't have time before I left to check out what we have going on in the area. So can someone fill me in on any local gatherings, shows, hang outs that go on. I need my camaro fix lol. Wasn't able to bring mine with me. Thanks

Today I detailed my car using Blackfire products. I highly recommend this line of products. I usually use Meguiars and I have used Adams. After 1 time I'm sold on Blackfire.

Well if you have tome tomorrow and you are on the Marine base. Swing ny the backside of the PMO building where the kennels are. You can't miss it you will hear all the dogs barking. That's where I park.
