How do I convert my normal SS headlights to the SS/RS headlights?
I want my 2010 Camaro SS, that has the normal headlights, to have the halo's and the center bulb like the RS, but I don't know exactly what I should get. I don't want it to be to to expensive either. Anybody wanna help me out?

You're looking at between $800 - $1200 for the RS headlights or you can get a set of Eagle Eye headlights for $400 - $500 and the only difference is the halo's are a little smaller and you have to add the H.I.D's, but pretty much the same.

I haven't messed with RS headlights, but a member on here 2SSRS has a thread about adding RS headlights to a nonRS car. If you go with the Eagle Eyes and add H.I.D.'s you use a harness that plugs into a few things and that's it. Took me about 15 min to hook up my H.I.D.'s.

High Intensity Discharge (or something like that). Yeah it's the main bulb. You see the cars riding around with these really bright headlights, that's them.

Ah, I see. So you see that picture up there. How do I make it so the headlight "background" i guess doesn't look like the normal headlight, and make it just black with the HID in the center. Do you understand what I mean? I don't know how to explain it.

The headlights you and I have are halogen headlights which use the complete assembly to project the lighting so it needs the silver on the inside. The RS headlight is a projector headlight which uses the glass eye in the middle to concentrate and project the lighting and doesn't need the silver on the inside.
So to get the black background you need to have projector headlights like the RS & Eagle Eye headlights. |

It is also possible to get a Non-RS car to look like a RS car in auto mode. |

You can do a HID retrofit. Or waste your money and get OEM RS headlights or waste a little less and get eagle eyes. A lot of people are having problems with them and the light output for driving is ok at best. Do a retrofit. Its very easy. My roomate does them but the mods made him feel very unwelcome so he doesnt visit here anymore. http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showth...&highlight=HID

Well those are RS headlights. So if you want exactly that looks wise get RS headlights. Look at the link I posted for a retrofit. They look almost the same but are 1/4th the cost and perform better at night for the driver. And if you want a bigger halo they are available.

imo the best hid is Oracle from AAC. From what I read on the retrofit you have to buy the separate parts, disassemble your current headlights and reassemble everything.

To get the black background & center eye, it's only on projector headlights. Which is the RS, eagle eye or the retrofit headlights.

Yea. But they are just a pnp kit. They are good if you just want to tell people you have HIDs but no real improvement. Plus he is after the RS look which the AAC stuff wont give him. You do indeed have to pull apart the housings which is very simple. It can be done in a day by a novice. I have helped a couple of others on here through the process. Its way easier and cheaper not to mention better performing than the OEM RS or eagle eyes.
