I'm still a little hesitant to scale back to the 15-mm adapters because I don't like the idea of cutting threads off the studs. I'd still like the option to take them off for the drag strip. Maybe I'm just being too anal about it though. With the way that adapter is made and the way it fits, I doubt the structural integrity of the hub/wheel assembly has been compromised. I should probably just commit to them and be done with it.

![]() Maybe I could do this until I need new tires again. It shouldn't take too long.

Give me a few.
Here you go. Hopefully I won't get into trouble for linking to another site. Those are the stock wheels on H&R 20mm adapters on stock wheels and tires. http://www.moderncamaro.com/forum/5t...lack-rims.html

So you guys all think I'm better off putting a set of rears on the front? Instead of widening the fronts?

You could buy two wheels cheaper than what it costs to widen them.

Yep. The only reason we widened the rears is because you can't buy 10.5-inch stockers. You can buy 9-inch stockers for the front, and because of the net difference in width minus offset, you'll gain a little outboard movement as a bonus.

Ok but I already bought a full set of wheels. Not just 2. I have 2 full sets. One of them I powdercoated front and backs already. So I was just going to send all them to get widened. If not I'm gonna end up with 4 fronts that are mix match unless I powdercoat the rest of the wheels I have.

So you guys think I can widen the fronts to 9.5 and put a spacer on them? And widen the rears to 10.8 or 11?

The fronts will work. If you go past 10.5 on the rears, you'll need spacers on the back too.

I just put a set of widened wheels on my 2011 SS. They are the stock 20x9 wheels widened to 20x10.5. This is my setup for the track so I put nitto nt05r 315/35/20s on them. The car is lowered 1.25 " with pdaft drop springs and the wheels clear everything even though the car is lowered. They miss the inner wheel well by a little more then half an inch with no spacers. I drove them around quite a bit and they dont rub at all so i guess they are good to go. Just figured id post this to help anyone else out who has lowered their car and is worried about clearance issues. Hope this helps.

The traction difference is huge just with the burnout. The nto5rs barely wanted to even spin, compared to the stockers that spin on demand.

That looks a lot better. Are the spacers in the back still 20mm?

If I had it to do over again, though, I'd put rear stockers up front like you're doing. The 275 INVOs would look good up there (when are we going to see your pics?). Oh well, I'll need new tires eventually.

Nitto just did a production run on the 315/35/20 Invos and are sending them to people on the emergency list. I'm on that list now and should have the tires in my possession hopefully Friday.

Any change in steering feel or response with the adapters up front?

Actually, I did notice one change, and it's going to sound goofy, but the brakes are quieter now. Don't ask me why. Maybe the harmonics changed on the wheel/hub assembly.
