You should look at one of TSP's VVT cams. Get rid of the AFM but not VVT.

Ok, I tried a little bit better camera this time. It's still not great, but better than my cell.

Yes, you need a 4:33 gear and more compression to run this. You also need good springs like comp cams duel spring steel tool and upgrade the trunion bearings in the stock rocker arms. Patriot gold springs are not enough for this cam. Good thing about cam is it has no rpm drop on top, it just pulls and pulls. The higher I rev the faster I go. Currently shifting at 7,000 rpm. (But rev limiter set on 7,200 and I have hit it) You can probably get better average hp and close to the same max hp with a 231/236 and 113LSA or even 114LSA and it is much more streetable. I am about to cam mine down a little.

With out gears there is a lot of buck and surge below 1,500 rpm. Now I shift 1st, 3rd, 5th around town @ 2,000 rpm. Only lost 2mpg at 70mph with cam and 4:33's. But the cam kills my MPG sitting idling at red lights i.e., 10 to 11 mpg in constant stop and go. Big city lots of long lights up to two minutes each. Now trapping around 6,400 rpm in fourth in the quarter. Really wakes up the 60ft too, but keep the stock clutch ( I lost .2 on 60 ft with Ram HD clutch and finally put my old clutch back in). A 3:70 is a waste of time in an M6.

CORRECTION: I did not realize you have an automatic. The gear ratio is different and a 3:90 is probably the highest you want to go. LPE has a good one out now. A stall will also help tame the cam.

I have a question about the cams. What actually does the cam do for the car, and I want that "cam sound" but I live in Cali so I can't really get headers put on because of the smog laws, but I have my 2ss with electric cutouts on my stock exhaust and I have my cold air induction. Could I achieve this sound from getting a cam with what I have now. And how much are CAMs? Thnks.

SAME HERE!! Grrr...I need to just pick a cam. I have heard the 231/236 loses low end tq and really makes power in the higher end, I wouldnt think this is a cam for a normal street car then...

If you are talking about when we talked about the diablo tuner you had then yes that was me.

Get home safe.....I will try to do the same.

Thank You for the compliment. I really like how everything has turned out so far also. I have a few more things planned for when I get back in October for R & R.
