Well, I recently bought some stuff that is in gel form. Armor-All gel shine or something, I'll get back to you on it. It works GREAT. No overspray on the car or rims and last 3 times as long. Freind of ours owns a detail shop and he turned me on to it.

This will probably be moved to
Cosmetic Maintenance: Washing, Waxing, Detailing, Repairs But I'll get back with the name unless someone else has a better suggestion.

It may not be an AA product. I'll get the name when I get home and post here.

I used the Armor-All extreme shine for my car when I took the last pictures.
Look at my garage
<----
It looks great for a couple of days but the dirt sticks to it afterwards and makes it look even dirtier than before.

I wouldn't use it.

My wheels on the SS are chrome. For them, I use Zaino.

As for tire shine, I tried many different brands, but went back to Armor All. They offer different variances; shiney to matt.

I avoid any gels as every one I've tried slings.

I do wash the tires at every washing to remove the old protectant too.

I'm sold on Adam's products, their VRT works great on the tires - not too shiny, lasts a few weeks.

I swear by Adams Polish products. Their VRT is second to none for vinyl and rubber. Their IN/OUT spray is great for those hard to reach places. On top of the quality of their product, their stuff smells great.

Meguiars high gloss Hot Shine tire gel. That's the name. Haven't had problem with slinging. I love this stuff. Lasts longer and looks great. Moose, could be the type of tire as to why it doesn't sling on my wifes Lexus but does on yours if it's a taller meatier tire.

I haven't used that one. But I've used Zaino and i trust anything they do.
The armor all spray I used left it all sticky and gets dirt on the tires.

that is exactly what happens. that's how my tires look like right now.
don't mind the white spot.
But that brown stuff is what happens all around the tire when you use Armor-all.
This is only 5 days after using it.

i use the Zaino tire dressing ,after it dries its not shiny,it looks like you just bought brand new tires . the brown tinting on the tire is just dirt , i use the Zaino tire dressing on the running boards and door handles of my envoy and they NEVER get brown. Only the tire after a while, its from the road.Make sure your tires are always inflated to the correct PSI

Never tried the Zaino stuff but at all the stuff I've ever used for tires, the Meguiars Hot Shine tire gel has been the best. It's what I'm using on Bonnies car now.

I guess no matter what you use it's going to have some thing you don't like.

As Nexus 6 said. They Zaino tire stuff isn't very shiny. I was going to give the Black Magic Titanium Tire Gel a try.

http://www.blackmagicshine.com/produ...m-tire-wet-gel

According to their site it's not supposed to sling as much as other gels, but we'll see.

Just a tip. If you want to get the tires nice and clean and get the brake dust off. The Wesleys Bleach White, white wall cleaner does an AWESOME job of removing that baked on brake dust...

Cool! I'll have to try it on my Jeep.

Lexus put the ceramic brake pads on Bonnies car and I was AMAZED. Literally it would take about 50 times longer for them to get dirty. Awesome.
Her car front rims were allways dark with brake dust after a week. After the first week with the new pads there was 0, zero, nada, nil, none, NO brake dust.
No exageration.

I will definately be putting them on my Maro. But Simple Green and a pressure washer has worked really good in the past.
