Would you buy a brand new G8 GXP for 36k?

If you answered yes, id get on it.

A tick over 13.0 sec. and you're through the quarter-mile. It's a rush, of course, but not overly dramatic. Try the same thing with this pair's predecessors of 1970 or so and you'll find yourself in a bit of a wrestling match. Ain't progress wonderful? Maybe yes, and maybe sometimes it's fun to wrestle."

Easy call for me.

I'm not in the market for a car. I don't need a car. I'm only buying because it's the Camaro I've allways wanted. I HATED the 4th Gens (appearance) but I love this car. If the Camaro wasn't coming up I wouldn't be buying a car at all.

I know to most, this is dumb as hell but I've allways said, if it's worth it to you, then it's worth it.

But for a good deal of people who are worried about practicality without wanting to give up the LS3 performance this is a great deal. Basically like an M5.

I got one with a manual transmission.

First order of business is to get some better rear tires. 8" rims are a joke on this thing. Then scrap the stock airbox as I still can't figure out where the inoming air actually comes from. It appears to have to take about 4 90 degree turns to find the throttle body.

The exhaust note and engine roar are awesome. Those of you holding out for the Camaro will not be dissapointed.

How's the 'seat of your pants' feeling?

The seat of the pants feeling? I traded in my G8 GT, and compared to that, the GXP pulls harder. Once I get it to hook up in first, which isn't easy, the car easily feels faster than the GT. The unmarked redline comes up FAST, so fast in fact that I have bounced off the 6600 rev limiter a couple of times. I don't time my 0-60 runs, but the 4.5 sec that MotorTrend got in the GXP is very believable.

If you want a manual or care about the warranty then the GXP would be awesome. Since I dont care about either my GT with a few mod's cost's less and will run with the GXP. And ive stiil got $$$$ to spare.

How many doors do you need? 4 or 2. Lets not pretend that the rear seats in the Camaro are roomy. I sat back there at our auto show and its not all that comfy.

Do you want to get the LS3 motor with an automatic transmission? If so, you can get it in the GXP, not with the Camaro.

To be honest I would prefer everything the GXP offers over the Camaro except the styling...and that's very important to me. Not that GXP looks bad at all, but it doesn't hold a candle to the Camaro.

Trust me... the Camaro will blow away everything on the road.. for the first year until everyone has one.

Pros/Cons of the GXP compared to the Camaro

Pros.

1. 4 doors, much more room

2. ill assume it has a more comfortable ride, (sedan.)

3. This is the big one IMO. The GXP is going to be much more rare, if you owned one you'd probably never run into another G8 GXP owner without looking for one.

Cons.

1. Styling. Not that its bad, but there is a really short list of cars that can beat the Camaro's Styling.

2. Weight. It is heavier so less fuel economy and less aggressive acceleration

3. Price

But the price is nearly the same right now...I can get a GXP for about $1k more than my as configured 2SS. So that leaves weight (which it's really not that much heavier) and styling (still a good looking car) so you see the dilemna. The other plus is I could go get one right now and get 0% at 60 months. There is no guarantee the Camaro will get 0% APR...in fact it's HIGHLY doubtfull.
