Becky, thanks for posting. Awesome!!

Yes, you could put the top down below 32 degrees, but do you really want to freeze??

Water will expand when it freezes in the cloth - the hard, frozen ice that forms between the fibers, especially when folded, will push apart and destroy the fabric and integrity of the top more quickly than time, heat/cold, pressure, sunlight, etc. will by themselves. So I can see why GM/Chevy would engineer in a switch to have the top not be lowered when temps are near or below freezing. Thoughtful engineering to help our verts last longer, if you ask me.

What aren't you believing? The rigorous testing is no joke in fact the video really understates it in my opinion.

And Oshawa works hard to build a high quality product and puts every car through the UWTB as shown in the video.

That being said, a convertible is a pretty complex thing to seal and it does give more of an opportunity to leak. If yours does, take it to the dealer and get it fixed. You shouldn't have to cover your car in the rain.
Number 3, thanks for posting here. What you say makes perfect sense - I teach for a software engineering firm, and even there we don't anticipate all the things that might happen when products are used in the real world. Keeping water out of a convertible in the first model year must be a challenge indeed! I appreciate your giving us further insight into the process.

Interesting! That could explain it. Maybe the problem happened because of an adjustment or change that was made after the test car run - or because of a problem that was found on the test car run and "resolved"!! Kill one problem and more come to the funeral.

Very impressive testing and video production, I like the coolvibe feel as opposed to the typical tie and suit dry feel that most OEM inhouse videos give. But we need to lose the stripes on bumper look, kills the rest of the great shape....IMHO

Mine are pretty bad right after I put the top up, but seem to get a little better after a while, but are permanantly there. I will be taking it in to the dealer next week to get it documented.

Glad to see you are going to get the issue looked at. Let me know if you need my help!

Did they forget to do the water test on all those who have reported leaks so far?

I think like SUX2BU mentioned, even though they put the top down and up 5x a day, they may not have driven with the top down - which seems to result in the rub marks.

We'll find out if my top rubs next week when I get my car!

I think it might be worse to be in your position. I know my top is messed up and so I have no problem driving with it down knowing it is getting worse. You are going to have a new top and be looking at it over and over again every time you put the top up. If you do see it start to make a mark you might feel bad about putting the top down and making it worse, especially since it doesn't look like GM has a fix yet.

Where can I get my own Chevrolet lab coat for all my testing? I'm sure the results would be better if I had a Lab coat!!!

VERY HIGH QUALITY. My 2010 Camaro 2SS/RS LS3 has 29,000 miles, has been through 2 winters in Northern IL. and I dont have a single rattle. This car is AS SOLID AS A ROCK like Chevy says. My last 9 vehicles were from Toyota, Honda, and Acura. This car is as tight or tighter then all of them. The others all had rattles after a year or so. GM is doing FANTASTIC IMO. I have gone and looked at ALL the new models in the past 2 years and they are all excellent in build quality IMO. From Buick, Chevy and Pontiac. Which is gone, and that PISSES me off. THANKS US GOVERNMENT for helping BANKERS instead of Pontiac.

Have a Great Day, and GOD BLESS ALL.

OOPS. I forgot Cadilac with I LOVE very much !!!

Had camaros with t-tops, all leaked. Had corvettes, coupe with targa and convertible, they leaked. Almost all owners of Ferarri 355 spyders have leaks, at least half of 360/430 owners have leaks, and those are $200k new. So I would expect some leakage in ANY soft top convertible. I think only cars not as prones to leakage are high end hard top convertibles, like MB SL550 etc.

I've had 2 Toyota Solara verts and a Miata, never a leak. I don't have one in my Camaro either (but I do have the rub spots).
