Shame on GM

They'll never eliminate the Government Motors moniker by allowing this kind of nonsense: http://nlpc.org/stories/2011/05/31/g...lt-tax-credits

These are individual dealers collecting the credit. This has nothing to do with GM. Any dealer caught taking this credit should be terminated by GM.

It is the SCUMBAG dealers who are doing this, GM does hold some of the responsibility though. GM need to have better oversite is this "gray" area. I own a franchise business, there are certain things that I need to preform and they hold me accountable for, but there are somethings that I can push the line on and get away with it. Again let the buyer beware, DEALERS ARE SCUMBAGS!

This is what happens when government gets into the game. Government should never have gotten into using tax dollars to subsidize or save any business...:ma d0259: .. there's a bankruptcy process in place

what's also omitted from this report is something I heard from an economist on the radio. The Volt costs $80,000 to produce, taking into consideration it's run volume and it's taxpayer subsidy, and development cost. It's sold at $40,000 plus the $7,500 tax credit subsidy (again thanks taxpayer). So taxpayers take a $40,000 hit each time one is sold. Isn't that special?:mad02 60:

So for about the same money... A volt or a Camaro?

Tell me... we're burning coal to produce energy for an electric car and that's "green"?

This was on the front page of jalopnik.com http://jalopnik.com/5806946/chevy-de...lt-tax-credits

Sounds like the original article is inaccurate.

I'm confused, how does the taxpayer take a hit on a Volt sale?

And yes, it's easier to keep a single source coal plant clean...........or that's the theory, as most coal plants are just emitting water vapor now.

And as for the original post? Discusting, but no more so to me than the dealers that will try to overcharge (and get it) for the ZL1.
